I remember during the BCS title game between LSU and tOSU, it was mentioned that although both the Buckeye and Trojan defenses were 1-2 and LSU was #3 nationally, the Tigers had played over twice as hard of a schedule as either team.

There's been a reason USC hasn't gotten into more BCS title games, besides losing to teams you shouldn't lose to.

It's the schedule.

They're actually 2-5, and really only got "creamed" in 2 of those games, FWIW. Besides, maybe they wouldn't have made it so far if Texas would've done better against them and won the conference two or more times.
