but if they had voted their consciences, there is no question that USC would have been rated #1 in that poll after the bowls, just as it was in the AP poll.

That is dead on. when #1 beats a highly ranked team in their bowl, they have always stayed #1 in the past. In 2003, the BCS was in place. So it is what it is.

And yes USC dominated them but only won 28-14. Take away the Lienart play and it was only 21-14.

ANd take away the two Michigan scores and it is 21-0. Add in two safeties and it is 25-0. How about another field goal for 28 zip?

USC:

2008 12-1
2007 11-2
2006 11-2
2005 12-1
2004 13-0
2003 11-1
2002 11-2
2001 6-6
2000 5-7

LSU:

2000 8-4
2001 10-3
2002 8-5
2003 13-1
2004 9-3
2005 11-2
2006 11-2
2007 12-2
2008 8-5

but, as is the case in every other decade in history, USC's overall record is better.

USC 92-22 (.807)
LSU 90-27 (.769)

The question really is, against whom. 9/10 times LSU plays a more difficult schedule, and that's pretty much consistent as far as you care to go back. There may be exceptions to that rule, but they are few and far between.

Top programs 1-12 = SEC
13-119 the rest.

Please check USC's record in bowls, against top 5, 10, 20, 25 teams.

TX isn't top 5, not sure how you can argue that. 1-2 USC/UF 3-5 LSU/Oklahoma/OSU (depending on how you weigh the criteria) 6 Texas 7-10 Whatever

This was my initial reaction, too. Why the hell did he rank Texas before LSU and Ohio State? The 'Horns are #6 at best.

You can argue the order, but the top 3 are LSU, USC and Florida. Next, OSU and Oklahoma, in no particular order.

Far from a trailer my friend.

It should have been Florida and #1 followed by LSU.

I believe this. You're too stupid to afford a trailer.

ohio state has been a better team than usc in my opinion.

I'm a Buckeye fan (hence the name) and this is one of the most stupid statements I've ever seen on here (and that's saying something).

However I would but Texas at 4 because they beat one of the best teams all-time in the title game, Plus they didn't destroyed like OU or OSU did.

OU and OSU are definitely ahead of Texas right now.
