Denbrock short passing game

Denbrock needs to take a look at the quick-short passing game used by the Eagles tonite! That will slow down the quick pass rush by defensive ends as used by Arkansas Saturday !

The play call doesn't matter if JD won't let the ball fly unless the wr is wide open. I thought he had fixed this but damn he looked horrid saturday.

I would like to see more WR screens we have good blockers at WR and are extremely athletic and talented. Then after a few quick WR screens we can play off of that and run a fake screen and go

a short passing game is not included in Denbrock's playbook

He runs zone read boys Gary crowton 2.0

I don’t see how dbs aren’t intercepting those comeback route we literally run that same play at least 6 times a game

You have no idea what you are talking about buddy. Downfield was where the action was against Arkansas. They were playing a lot of single safety, which gives up the quick hitting 15 to 20 yard routes, which can be thrown way before the pass rush gets there.
LSU was calling the plays and running the routes, but Daniels was not letting it go.

I STRONGLY agree with this.
It seems like a lot of the time Daniels doesn't even have a check down route. It drives me nuts. He also doesn't feed Williams as much as he should.

Think it’s safe to say they both had a bad game. JD5 wouldn’t let it rip and the OC didn’t call anything to slow down the rush. They both had a stinker! But proved the previous few weeks they can be much better

You were watching a different game my friend ! Daniels didn't have time to look downfield !

Watch the all 22 footage. The play calling wasn’t the issue. JD has no anticipation and the timing of the throws that were open was before the pass rush arrived most of the time.
If you’re going to pick a bone with Denbrock it should be about calling plays JD isn’t capable of making. It’s not a one or the other deal, but Denbrock has to call plays based off what the defense is doing.

I just called Mike, I said DenDen cause that’s what I call him, I said flip over to the Eagles game and check out that short passing game and he said Dog cause that’s what he calls me, he said I’ll do but I’m watching the Voice right now I’ll DVR it.

Yes he holds on to the ball too long so PLAY TO HIS STRENGTHS. We’ve done that from the Florida game thru the bama game then reverted to the first 4 games

JD looked slow in making decisions and slow when he ran the ball. I think he was still feeling the flu. Either that or he has a big aversion to cold weather.

I disagree. JD missed some reads, but man, there were tons of plays where they were on him well before he could throw. I really wish we would sprinkle in more short passes. Let JD catch the snap, set and throw. Our athletes can get open but too often they haven’t even made a cut and he’s getting sacked.

That was an addition to the offense specifically for Daniels because he’s comfortable with that route and it’s easy to read.
It’s a low risk pass.

Charles Turner and Anthony Bradford had their worst games of the year by a lot. Turner was making the wrong protection calls the whole game and could have gotten Jayden hurt. Bradford couldn’t pick up a blitz to save his life. He missed like 3 in a row at one point. The interior had been playing well until that game. Sometimes everything goes wrong and you need to grind out a win. Defense bailed us out. W is a W. I don’t anticipate us playing that bad again on offense in the next 2 games.

If teams want to drop 7 and 8 you simply can’t do what you are suggesting.
He’s going to have to anticipate and throw in the open zones.

JD went back to waiting until the WR was out of his break and open before throwing it. He didn’t do that against Ole Piss or Bama. He was throwing it on time before the break. Why he regressed, I don’t know. Might have been the early pick he threw? Whatever it was it screwed the timing up. Then Bradford couldn’t pass block to save his life so JD couldn’t step up and take off. It was a bad combination against a zone defense like Arky ran.
