Perkins is starting alongside Penn next year. He will move around but he is not a EDGE player permanently at his size making him more of a LB at 220-ish

I honestly expected him to beat out penn with more experience and penn to transfer

I think with the additions LSU made in the secondary, the CBs may surprise some people.

LBs I don’t have much faith in at the moment other than Perkins lol.

This is 2023 and if a guy doesn't play a lot there's a real possibility he'll enter the portal. Greg Penn beat him out and is a damn good LB. Tolan would not supplant him or

Greg penn is not a really good lb. This probably has nothing at all to do with playing time.

Imo he was going to beat penn out going into next yr

Now they need to get 2 good lbs out the portal instead of one.

Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but nothing really makes sense in today’s college football. The days of waiting your turn and developing in one program are all but over.

This is another head scratcher. More is at play here because I do think he was going to be a huge contributor next year.

Well here is to hoping Greg Penn takes a few giant steps forward in his development like Damone Clark did.

Some one posted on here right after bowl game “where was tolan?” Did he even make the trip?

This sounds like discipline issue

Was counting on him and Perkins to anchor LB's for next few years now down to Perkins crap.

I don’t like the transfer portal especially not inter conference. Said that from the start. Kids transferring from SLU to a
D-1 because they have an opportunity is not the same as someone blindly entering the portal for any ole reason when they are already at a top tier school and pretty much guaranteed a starting spot. An Eli Ricks is not the same as a small school guy who goes to a D-1 school. I think inter conference people should have to sit out a year instead of allowing people to play this NIL system to the fullest or make a rush decision given bad advice and end up dropping down a division or a worse situation. Not to mention all the tampering inter conference from the Gumps and the likes. I can only imagine what kind of stuff Harold Perkins will be hearing this off season from the Gumps

He had 9 tackles this year. What makes you think he was one of the best players?

He was behind Perk and Baskerville. He was going to take Baskervilles place next year?

Perkins… there’s really only ever 2 off ball linebackers on the field most of the time

you’d think you would get out of the cycle of being dependent on transfer portal but, here we are

The portal is the new norm. It’s not going away. Maybe it will settle down when there’s enough stories of guys never finding a spot if they don’t go in with one already lined up, but that’s not today.
