I’ll go with Stingley’s pick vs Florida to seal it. Queen’s pick before the half at Bama was huge too.

Not a lot of big hits come to mind this season (probably with targeting rules eliminating a lot). Gonna go with Stevens’ backbreaker on the Clemson receiver

STINGLEYS INT AT END OF HALF VS AUBURN WAS HUGE, ALSO THE 4TH DOWN STOP @ BAMA WAS BIG AS WELL.

Delpit putting his helmet on the ball to knock it out of Sunshine's hand and seal the National Championship was the hit of the year.

Huge, Huge, Huge - this gave LSU even more momentum heading into 1/2 time and increasing to a 3 score lead

Also Delpit running down the Auburn RB to stop a TD and they settled for FG. Did not seem huge at the time but in hindsight...

Has to be this one.

Saban has to still be kicking himself for that. Down 13 isn't ideal, but with Tua running the offense and LSU's sieve-like 2nd half defense, it wouldn't have been a deal-breaker. They snapped with 23 seconds left, a kneel would have ended the half.

When Hampton smacked Jalen Hurts... my vote for hit of the year. Wish I had a gif so I could watch it all day everyday

Maurice Hampton knocked the crap out of Jalen Hurts in the Peach Bowl. That one looked like it hurt.

Watch the play but focus on #69dickson. Doesnt even try to tackle queen. Just dives into Rashard knees/nuts helmet first. Then gets up and goes blindside Vincent. Hope he gets dick aids

Yep.

To use a boxing analogy, that play wobbled Bama. Down 13 there was already concern due to the fact LSU was getting the ball to start the second half. Then BOOM! 15 seconds later you're going into the half down 20! And LSU was marching on the opening possession of the 2nd half. If not for a freak timing play (safety gets to Joe just as he's about to let it go...leading to flip right into the defender's hands), LSU was probably going to score on that drive to make it 40-13

Biggest hit - Tory Carter decapitation of Georgia player

Favorite game changing hit - Stevens hit on Amari Rodgers of Clemson

It was a 17-14 game at that point. It felt like that was the spark the defense needed at the time. He could have possibly had a pick, but the hit sent waves down each sideline. In slow mo it was brutal.

It’s definitely top 5. You could argue it was the most important play of the entire season. That was a muddy game in which Steele was stonewalling the offense in the red zone. Auburn could have potentially went up 17-10 going into half in a game where we never quite got it together.

Totally agree, the Patrick Queen interception gave us a 20-point lead at the half.

And it was an outstanding play on top of that, great read and not the easiest pass to catch for a defender.

That was the beginning of the rise of Patrick Queen as a central figure to the defensive dominance we ended the season with in those last 5 games.

Well considering he only had 6 on the entire season, I'll declare your post is the absolute worst that will be made in this discussion.

There were 11 seconds left in the half & they were out of field goal range. So they had to throw a jump ball & Nix sucks....so just about any CB on the team could've swatted it down leaving them with 6 seconds & still out of field goal range.

If anything, we were fortunate Gus gave another terrible play call.

Pat Queen smacking Travis Etienne in the NCG. We are going to miss him next season.
