In the last couple of years i've heard from people online and in person that Autzen is louder then death valley. I think this is crazy is Autzen even close to as aloud as Death Valley can get? Maybe the last two seasons Oregon's stadium has been louder at times, but still i dont believe it. Plus Death Valley holds like 20,000 more people.

The way Autzen is built..yeah its possible and actually a good chance of being true.

Plus, their fans don't suck as bad as ours.

Ole Miss is probably louder when LSU visits than Autzen but the venue itself is probably less hospitable

Loud and hospitable are the two terms that need to be distinguished

I'm sure Oregon fans think there environment is similar to the SEC, Oregon St fans were in shock when they showed up to BR (the rain deluge made Tiger Stadium a shell of itself that night)

Oregon St fans would be a good guage since the ones that made the trip to LSU have probably also been to Oregon

Death Valley is bigger and louder. Both stadiums set records for noise levels in '07. LSU vs. FLA- 132 decibels... and Oregon vs. BC '07 128 decibels.. aside from that I cant see them being consistently louder than our staduim.

And Autzen is loud because of teh shape. Big difference in crowd (actual) noise.

apparently the way autzen is built is why its loud and sounds like there more people than it is. it built into the cround and shapped like a chaircle so apparently its like being inside a megaphone. wikipedia has everything about it

I think if we are talking about a night game against a hudge rival thats highly ranked. With all that being equal. LSU has better pregame atmosphere and better interactions with the Band during the game. I think the edge should be LSU. If Oregon added on that might be a different story

Gonna need a link for the decibel levels here, chief.

Also, autzen is practically built into the ground, and the way it is shaped is better suited for sound resonation. Better acoustics, if you will. TS is more open.

That being said, they're both loud as frick (TS not as much anymore) and I wouldn't want to be a visiting QB at either venue.

I've always wondered if someone has compiled a list of loudest stadiums in the world.

Saw that the other day on YouTube..I have a hard time believing Huskey Staduim gets that loud given the fact they havent been relevant and one year won only a game i think

The thing people forget is that their kicker hit like a 47-48 yarder in the mud with some wind on the road. So if he misses that and makes the 3 extra points. So LSU wins in regulation.

Well either way he had the skanks...its one of those things that obviously you are elated at the time but look back on it and feel sorry for the guy...especially with him trying to commit sucide
