Jarvis had a bubble screen long td last year that was called back. Pretty sure it was against Auburn, and he eventually scored on the same drive.

It does seem like the defender on the slot lines up pretty for off the ball a considerable amount of plays. I always expect us to check into when we are doing the check with me offense, but it hasn't happened much this season. Diarse seems like the perfect guy to do it.

There is also the RB screen,FB screen,TE screen, none of which I have seen run much at all this year. Think about this ! Ole Piss will put 8 in the box,pin their ears back, and come hard on the 5 and 7 step drops. What a perfect time for a screen to RB 7 or 18 or 27. I don't understand the reluctance to mix things up on offense.I don't understand the reluctance to scheme the offense to what the defense is giving you. No, let's just toss dive on 3rd and 7 or 5 step drop for an overthrow or underthrow. Diarse is a beast but we won't get him the ball.We have a jet on the bench who can get open, catch and score but we won't let him play. But, things are looking up !

Seems like we were successful with running the middle screen with Clayton

I love the slip screen or jailbreak screen.

I think this thread is using mixed terminology. I think some people are referring to slip screen as the bubble screen. Others are referring to a completely different screen. Or maybe it's just me.

LSU has tried a few screens without much success this year especially the "jail break".
The WR screen is used by almost everyone and has made Amari Cooper a dark horse Heisman guy.

Jennings has thrown a few darts but not many. He just doesn't have the arm strength which is God given to some. When he rares back and fires he usually doesn't have the accuracy component.

We've seen variations of all the plays you mentioned. They all have either been so badly looked off by the QB that no one is fooled, or hit the turf for an incompletion. Running that kind of play takes poise and repetition, something neither of our QBs have much of at this point. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I think we'll see a lot more of that next year.

2009 was the death of the bubble screen. It was so ineffective and frustrating that once they got rid of Crowton, it disappeared from the offense all together. It was incredibly aggravating to see us get 7 yards on a bubble screen on 3rd and 10 when we had a guy open 15 yards down field.

Kentucky's defenders were playing about 8 yards off of our receivers. I just knew we were about to throw a bubble screen out to the slot receiver. It was a free 5 yards, at the very least.

When did this occur? This is a play that seemed to always work.

it's a read play, and right now the coaches aren't doing very many of those. I like the way the RB swing pass is looking right now better any way...same basic goal as the bubble screen. In addition, with the speed in the SEC on defense, the play has become less effective

The bubble screen was hated on here.

Half the people here thought the bubble was the jailbreak and the other half thought the jailbreak was the bubble.

Good times!

RB wheel routes.. Who am I kidding.. Let LF7 run those routes (he's shown against Sam Houston that he's got hands).

Match LF7 with a linebacker and LF7 should win most of the time.

LF7 ran a wheel route against UK. He was covered tight.

Travin Dural had 3 steps on his man over the middle heading for the right side of the end zone... it was an easy TD.

AJ looked LF7 the ENTIRE time and eventually threw the call into the cheerleaders over LF7's head.

I saw that play and realized AJ can't come off the primary receiver.

We have what we have, fellas.
