I know we have not seen much from him but I strongly believe this will be his breakout year. He is a pro type end and I think we will settle in this year.

He was pretty solid last year and I think he will continue to be very solid but I think Montgomery is going to be a monster this year and overshadow him

Lots of JUCOs take a giant step their senior year, it takes a season to get used to SEC ball.

Exactly right, NIH. Our pattern on JUCO recruits is that their senior year is usually a massive jump from their first year. Cedric Donaldson, Howard Green and so on.

Adams makes that jump and things get very interesting at defensive end depth-wise. Because I expect Montgomery, Edwards and Mingo to all be scary-good.

Our defense as a whole is going to be scary-good. Karnell Hatcher does an Eric Alexander thing at linebacker and Freak Johnson shows as well as I think he will, and we will be SICK on defense.

Let's hope so considering this is his last one.

Like I said, I've got a serious Eric Alexander vibe about Hatcher. He was always a guy who could come up and knock the piss out of people and he's got some very good speed. Plus he has a frame to carry 225 pounds or so and I understand he's set to play at that weight in the fall.

If Hatcher can give you a solid player there you're fine. Baker's going to be a star. And if you play a 4-3 defense and leave Tyran Mathieu on the sidelines EVER, you're a moron. That kid's worth two turnovers per game and then some. Play a nickel or dime (which puts Eric Reid on the field) every damn down.

Adams may be our best all around DE this coming season with Montgomery and especially Mingo more pass rushing specialist.

I am looking for Adams to be a good tackling DE. Mingo and Montgomery are a little undersize but the are great pass rushers.

Montgomery has the potential to be a beast, but the honest truth is that he's got a lot of agility to regain. Whether he can move laterally at the same level he did last year pre-injury is an important question that only him being on the field and going against the guys in practice will answer.

Until then, you have to look at Mingo & Edwards as your starters, & after that we're somewhat thin. Having said that, Aghayere provides a solid-if unspectacular-backup. Montgomery will be in your Top 4 to start, but from there, we'll see some young pups like Maclin & some others get a shot.
