Jabaar Juluke and David Johnson were both St Aug guys and had so many ties across Nola public schools that they coached at. Most of the supposed coaches that were boycotting felt Juluke, their guy, didn't get a fair shake when demoted. David Johnson, another one of their guys, didn't get the job. A lot easier to get out in front and say you rejected it to save face with current employer (Memphis).
Most of these boycotting coaches played for Nola public schools in the late 80s and 90s. At the same time, the Joseph family was very prominent in Nola high school football. They were always in news bc they went on to play in college and have made a name in coaching now. People still hold animosity towards them because not many in Nola can ever get past high school. And here you get Mickey Joseph replacing and getting the job over their guys.

I was really hoping you'd come back and answer that. It's fascinating. But being from New Orleans not surprising unfortunately. Thanks for the information

3. The No. 7 class was No. 5 when Da Caoch O took over. The losses of La. guys to Alabama and others and the periodic uncertainty/ chaos.
The firing of Craig, and reassignment of Juluke, and the replacements look VERY problematic.
First off, O did not lose La recruits to Alabama. They were committed to bama before O was officially named as head coach. And Moses decommitted before Les was fired so it wasnt like he was sticking around anyways. Secondly, the kids we were able to get instead, well it was a pretty damn good trade in our favor.
The firing of Craig and Juluke look problematic? You're just making this up. O just got rid of the worst teaching coaches on staff and replaced them with one awesome coach and another who will at worst still be better than either that was let go.

Rumor is johnson wanted input on the offensive
Also I think coach o wanted a coach who can coach especially at the wr postion. From what I've read he is a no nonsense coach who will hold wr accountable

Its unheard of to have worse class after a coaching change?
We had a worse class after the coaching change, even though we signed Chaisson, three of the top 11 safeties in the country, Tyler Taylor, Jacob Phillips, Tyler Shelvin, and multiple other studs, while we lost no one of note who was not committed before the change?
Do you not follow recruiting, or is it just that shitting on your own team/recruiting class your biggest priority?

Respect a guy who knows he's not ready for primetime.

Nitwit is a good name for you. Coach 'O' wanted his guys on staff. These are solid hires and the fact that ''O" held this staff together is a victory. You are a typical Sports Bar Hero, Nitwit

He wants to ride with a hot young coach and see where it leads him... nothing wrong with that..

Completely agree. Good stuff.

What the frick are you talking about? I didnt shite on the team or class. I responded to a poster saying what happened is unheard of. Its not unheard of for classes to be lower in a year with coaching changes. Ive repeatedly given O credit for keeping this class almost all intact.

I hope you meant to say we didnt lose any committed recruits once the change was made because we definitely lost players that were NOT COMMITTED before the change.

Yeah he has only been in charge of recruiting for the last 2 years.

Dont post this like its not your opinion. Moses stated that he committed to bama once Miles was fired.
but hey why should we take Moses' statement over the opinion of a person on an anonymous message board

Let's not get carried away with make believe victories: 1.Aranda was hired by Miles and was already here. The extension was good. 2. The LSU job was a big promotion for Canada from Pitt and a huge raise. It was an easy sell; O's first pick was Kiffin, second ? 3. The No. 7 class was No. 5 when Da Caoch O took over. The losses of La. guys to Alabama and others and the periodic uncertainty/ chaos. The firing of Craig, and reassignment of Juluke, and the replacements look VERY problematic. Being a great HC means more than being a good recruiter and motivator.
I was very vocal about my disdain for O getting the top spot but let's be real. He has done nothing but good things since taking over.

Dude, if you're that naive to fall for that schtick that Moses gave, I don't know what to tell you. He decommitted in August before the first game had been played. He was looking for a reason to commit to the gumps. All the rest is bama spin. If you don't think he was coached on what to say by bama then you haven't been following recruiting very long.

What does St Aug have to do with Dave Johnson? Who prepped at Kennedy btw! You think he gives three flying fricks about Mickey Joseph? Where is the connection?

This is hilarious. Do your research moron!

This matter with the coaches will be smoothed over shortly. Johnson screwed himself by giving in to the pressure. He had a chance to come home at a substantial increase in pay. I am very happy with our two hires.
