Happens a lot in an up and coming career.

He's also never had a job like Lsu DC and we pay.

Could he jump for HC job or something? Sure. But if he does that means we probably had a badass defense. Risk I'm willing to take

each job is an upgrade and he is young. This is a good sign for us. Plus never a bad thing if your coaches are moving on to the NFL or P5 jobs.

Every one of those is an upward move.

That's good then. He is only expected to be here for a year, right?

This is life for most really good coaches until they reach a destination job or head coaching position. We are a destination job.

Depends on the deal he signs here. LSU might be the spot right before a big HC job. I dont think he could get that gig after only a year. If he does well at LSU, the big jobs will line up for him. He'll definitely get a lot of attention if LSU does well.

Better to hire a coach on the rise that may leave one day because of his success than to put your eggs into the retread fired coaching basket.

And thats why I am hopeful that he will settle down in BR before making his next big jump.

Upgrade every time in his coaching history
3 years in his last team (Wisconsin) is a solid stay
Salary from $500K to $1M (Definite upgrade)
LSU (Best school so far in his career and Elite School)
Since Head Coaching Material- LSU is potential place to take over from aging Les Miles
Coach in the SEC (SEC West- best Conf and best Division in College Football)
Recruiting- Fertile recruiting State and current access/pipeline to Tx and Fl players
$1M salary keeps him here until the perfect school comes calling which could be 2-3 years, unless its taking over from Les.

I still think the best thing that could have happened in the past month is Tom Herman named Head Coach, then he hires Aranda, and keeps Coach O and Raymond, then hires Kevin Mawae for OL, dumps Peveto or keeps him for recruiting only, hires a great Special Teams Coach all = many championships !!!

I wouldn't see him leave for another college DC job. I think he'd have to get a college HC job or move on to the pros to leave here. And fortunately, not too many DCs get HC jobs anymore. It happens, but more rare as most want offense. Besides, if he leaves, he obviously did very well to earn it and that's good for us.

I think he'll be here 3 years at least. He gets to coach some incredible talent for the first time in his life. Plus LSU could raise his salary anywhere from 1.3 to 1.5 if somebody tries to poach him after a successful season.

With success here I could see him the HC in waiting. I really like his demeanor and understanding of the game. If we can get our offense up to current times when needed, he just bought Les even more time.

Only negative is if he gets fired in a couple years. That means he didn't do his job well. He's gets a HC next then we had a good run for him. If it makes it to that point it might also being getting to the point where Les might retire. Assuming he's still around. Nothing negative about leaving because success.

I mean Kevin fing Steele left after 1 year. Gotta hire the best man for the job at the job and Aranda is certainly that
