Should’ve thrown the bank at this guy and I think we will regret it sooner than later. Defense looks horrible and it’s going to set us back a long time. Baylor looks like a powerhouse again this year.
Our defense has been night and day different since he’s left. It’s crazy how much influence the man had on how well he game planned against opponents. I’ll take a strong defense any day of the week.

Kelly will do fine here, but the long term fix was Arranda.

Yep but it would have been a hard hire to sell. It’s more than just Woodward who makes these decisions.

Dave went 2-7 at Baylor his first year and they won 10 games the year before.

DA has a higher ceiling than BK IMO. BK has the higher floor.
Both good stabilize and build the program. BK was the more expensive but safer hire, he is jimbo and Scott has a hard on for jimbo types.

We will see how it plays out this season but that was the Covid season and everyone knows how crazy that was… not giving him a pass for 2-7 and I get what y’all are saying but I just can’t see him allowing his defenses to look as bad as ours looked last night.

I dont agree with how bad our def is.. last night there were not guys running wide open all over the field. Almost every ball through past 13 yds was contested. Agree Dave was the best, but this years pass coverage seems to be a huge improvement over last year, and that’s what matter now!

I think Dave would have made a bigger impact on the defensive side of the ball. He is one of the best in the game. Scott let his big game Hunter mantra and his love for all things Jimbo lead him to Kelly.
Kelly will get us stabalized next year and forward but I think Dave could have done that as well and probably gotten us higher.
