re: Dari Nowkhah says LSU “Fifth Best” in SEC West

Yes, we lack the stars (not recruiting stars) we've had in the past. But talent and youth = stars in the making.
We don't have any offensive stars (though there may be guys with potential to be stars), but the D has 3 possible first rounders with Lawrence on the D-line, White at LB and Greedy in the secondary.
If Burrow is good, we won't need stars on offense with that D we're going to have. And LSU always has talent on offense, so a few guys will emerge.

If you are counting on S-T and Defense to make you relevant on the offensive scoreboard, you most likely arent very talented on the Offensive side of the ball.
Elmer Fudd, (Less Miles), based most of his tenure on S-T and defense to make the Tigers relevant on offense.
Obviously we're going to throw it more this year in Ensminger's offense. I expect more explosive plays if Burrow (or another QB) can make the reads and deliver an accurate ball. In the past it was always run first and then try a low percentage deep play action pass, rather rather than a more balanced approach.

Never heard of Dari Nowkhah. Does he play cricket?

Dari Nowkhah is the 7th best person on the 105th ranked network.

Read what you’re typing. This is why the pundits are ranking us so low.
I don’t think anyone has said LSU doesn’t have talent. But what out of Orgeron or recent history says we will actually do something with that talent?
If the offense can’t score points, then our defense will have to be a turnover machine to keep us in games. All the talent in the world isn’t going to overcome TOP.
I mean we’ve been consistently picked near the bottom of the SEC across the board. How’s about let’s see what happens against Miami before we tar and feather the sportswriter industry? If we come out of Sept 4-0, the tune will change.

I have no problem with them ranking us low because our offense is a total mystery at this point.
A poster said we lacked the "stars" of the past and I just said that we have 3 potential 1st-rounders on the D in White, Greedy and Lawrence. With Lawrence, his health is a factor, but all three were stars on the field last year and our D was WAY tougher when Lawrence was healthy and playing. Everything is an "if" before the season for every team. But barring injury, White and Greedy appear to be sure first rounders by all draft pundits.
And I questioned why Nowkhah picked aTm to finish above LSU when LSU has blown them out twice under O, they have less talent and finished last season terribly by giving up 55 to Wake Forest in the bowl. Jimbo has been a great coach, but last year he was really bad with a ton of talent at FSU and he finished 5-6. Also, aTm has a really tough schedule. Yes, aTm could beat LSU this year. But I think I posed a very fair question.

Yes, I know Jimbo has a much better history than O. But he's going to turn that program completely around in one year?
Probably Not, But I think Jimbo will have a little extra just to show ol' Joe he screwed up

I dont guess Miami, Moo St, A&M, Georgia, Florida, Auburn or the lowly Gumps have as many draft picks on their team for 2019.
Johnny, Les Miles had the talent and the right system for quite a while. The Ensminger system may be the right one for now, lets hope so, but he doesnt have the talent that most LSu offenses have had in recent years.
Anyone that thinks LSU has no chance to lose 5 games this year is just not being objective. Too many ifs, and none bigger than QB. Theres some good QB play in the SEC this yr so not having a better than avg QB is almost a must to have any chance this yr.
I personally believe Burrow is the real deal and gives LSU a real shot at being the surprise team in the SEC west. But if hes not or is injured....
Many believe the dark horse this year to win the west is Moo St or A&M.
I predict LSu wins 8-9 if Burrow stays healthy depending on Miami, but I was not shocked to see the Vegas line 1 bit. Burrow gives the Tigers major hope but many programs are counting on their QB or one side of the ball to be better than advertised.
Its just so rare that LSu finds itself in this position, many are having a hard time with reality. Put me on that list.
Im not sure LSU has 1 first team All SEC player on the offensive side of the ball. 2nd teamers? 1-2?
