Says if, "Fournette had a better offensive line to run behind he might be able to be successful against Ole Miss."

Not that I respect Kanell's opinion but how does LSU go from everyone predicting them having the best OL in the entire country to being criticized as holding the team back?

Predictions aren't always 100% accurate

And FWIW, our O-line has improved. I'm willing to give Grimes a pass this year on account of his installing what I assume is a completely different system and mindset than what has been taught to these guys the last several years under Stud.

Especially at the C and LG position. I would like to see Dodd takeover at Center.

TE blocking is non-existent also! 85 runs around lost on a bunch of plays!

Please God not another thread with something Danny Kanell said. If you hear him say something just think the complete opposite.

...and there is no passing game allowing for reasonable numbers in the box.

Our OL is much better than we have seen. They've improved all year but they are hurt by the lack of a passing game. I think they'd be a dominant group with just a consistently decent passing game.

I'm optimistic because it appears they are getting it together. I think we pull out a game plan like 2010 Bama game

Yeah I think they do ok considering the defense knows it's a run play

Dodd will be very good next year and has looked good the times I saw him in there this year. But, Porter will be hard to get out of there this year. His senior leadership is valuable on the oline. Plus it is a little late in the year to mess with things too much, imho of course.

I am too. and maybe even half a recruiting cycle, because the comments coming out of camp were akin to "we're getting back to the basics, like footwork and stuff".

implying that Stud didn't teach them shite.

The offensive line has improved. You have to give them credit for LSU being able to strap it on a good Florida DL.. Coupled with the fact Florida knew before hand every play we ran. Ole Puss will be a stiffer test though.

Kanell likes to rate every SEC team by their worst game, and every non SEC team by their best.
