It always seems fixable….until live competition. Same as having the perfect golf swing, brushing the grass ever so gently....until you put a ball down.

Well, it was Brian Kelly's first game at LSU. I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt, since he's never been here before.

He's not going to stick to someone because of loyalty. If the team isn't moving in week three, he'll make changes. This week will tell us nothing.

If Kelly didn't think it was fixable or thought that it presented too much of a liability, he wouldn't be starting Daniels. But he is.

And that’s the important point.

A significant portion of our fans looked at the stats and convinced themselves that Daniels played great.

Another potion of our fans saw him struggling to find the open WR, and make pretty clear pre snap errors. They have decided he’s not capable.

The truth is that he ,ace errors and needs to improve…and will be given the opportunity to do so.

Film study is the biggest vision builder in football. This goes for QB’s, RB’s, and LB’s the most but it helps everywhere.

People like to say “oh he’s just gifted with a natural ability to make a play” but literally every great QB spends A lot of time in the film room.

Yes, it’s coachable.

There's maybe 5 kids in the NCAA with both wheels at JDs level and the ability to make those recognitions.

B Young
C Williams
S Bennett
H Hooker maybe

not many. that's a big ask out of one players skill set. Maybe he can get there, that's a high bar.

It was about 90% Denbrock's fault for not running more RPO with a super fast QB and a sub par line..kept dropping him back like he was Tom Brady..disaster.

I didn't see much adjusting on LSU's part the entire game.

I been one of those so called haters.

He isn't the reason we lost vs FSU though.

Another issue here is throwing to the right guy. The throw to Boutte on the goal line that he did not even attempt to catch was a bad QB read. Boutte was double covered and three receivers on the left side were single man covered. All of them were open... result was KB looked like shite because he half assed it and was not expecting it. He still could have and should have caught it but he was fixin to eat a safety.
I get it but regardless of the coverage, the QB went to the star player like most QB's are prone to do. The star player made a business decision and was half-assing it.
Anybody think Bech would have been looking for the ball in the exact same situation?

I don’t see how you could possibly argue anything different

If Daniels didn’t have the running ability he does he wouldn’t be starting, esp if we are to believe what BK said about them being 1A/B in camp. But coaches don’t lie do they????

They also said late in late Spring Practice "Brennan took care of the ball, and that was very important", when describing what they are looking for in a starting QB.

Coach Speak.

Offensive lineman getting blown into the qb have nothing to do protection calls. That's just losing one on one battles.

Daniels held the ball longer than any other SEC QB on average this week.

Good stuff, My Man.
The last Unit I thought would have any problem was Special Teams.
A kicker will miss field goals/extra points now and then. Returners will also muff the odd punt.
But a problem with lining up and assignments on FG's/PAT's?
With Polian's reputation I never could have thought those possible.

Very well done. Nailed it!

My .02

Every LSU fan should be screaming Brad Davis's name if they want to put someone on blast. I know it's still early for him but he worked with some of these players last season. He had that and the entire offseason at LSU and this was all he was able to get out of the O-line. I didn't expect much but I hoped for better than what we saw....yikes!

I was pulling for Brennan but "he gone" Daniels is what he is at this point. Denbrock needs to find his A game & make thigs work for Daniels.

I prefer defense anyway and watching the defense give up 3rd down conversions and missing tackles is harder for me to watch than any other part of the game.

It's a rebuild everyone said it LSU will win and lose some close games 8-4 hopefully but two of those have to be on CBK outcoaching an SEC opponent.
