Hodson, sure. Rohan was a dude and he put up some performances with Reed that were silly.

Jamarcus basically played for an NFL roster at LSU and threw for 1 300 yard game in his career.

I can see the argument, but Daniels is right in the mix with those guys. You may not like it, but you cannot ignore what he brings to the running game, especially in the redzone.

Hodson did it for so long and so that’s always easy to point to his career stats.

Sanders is the better version of what we want to see with Daniels. Daniels showed some real progress today I’d like to see him be just a twitch quicker on his reads. After that I want to see him commit to it actually throw the ball on some of his no decisions. He’s too careful and that’s not hurting him most of the time, but in the big game moments it’s a killer

Jamarcus (too Inconsistent) Russell
Rohan (too Inconsistent) Davey
Matt (too Limited) Mauck
Matt (too Limited) Flynn
Zach (too inconsistent) Mettenberg

I’m not sure about YA Tittle, and I don’t feel like searching for stats and/or footage on him.

Daniels’ history doesn’t support this argument against inconsistency.

I feel Daniels has been less inconsistent than those guys were, and keep in mind I’m not necessarily meaning to demean them. Hell look at the sorry arse coaching/offensive philosophy Davey had to deal with. And Flynn didn’t get his opportunity until his final year.

Russell was so dang mistake-prone. I’ll never forget my buddy and I sitting up in that horrible Florida gator swamp and Russell fumbling the rock at the 1-foot line. What a bonehead he was!

Meh… I’d like this take after the year is done. I’d like the consistency of Daniels to be the reason we won a game ala Bama last year. His stats vs a consistent winner I’ll take the Matt’s and give Jamarcus this line

I can see the Matts, and I did love Jamarcus’ “frozen rope” cannon for an arm, but geez he was so disappointing at times.

He played great, sure! Being top 5 at QB at LSU isn’t hard though. We haven’t been known to crank out QBs.

Proud of JD though. Love seeing t year guys play up to their experience

What does he not have that Mauck, Flynn, and Burrow do?
he can't readv the defense half as well as those guys, he cant lead a receiver consistently, and he's not half as confident as those guys.

Statistically, most of them.
Eye test Mauck and Flynn, probably Mett too.

I can’t speak to any qb before Jamie Howard.

Ok, JD is easily top 3.
Toss up between him at Jamarcus so for the 2 spot.

If we take Joe out of the mix, Danuel’s stats overall just from last season, place him as the number one or number two quarterback LSU ever had. Almost 4000 total yards, 28 total touchdowns, and the number one passing percentage in the history of LSU football. When Nuss takes over, I hope he does great, but at this time there is absolutely no comparison between what Daniels has given to LSU and what Nuss has given to LSU. We all have our favorites, but this continual push for a QB, who can’t run and throws as many interceptions as he does TDs is difficult to understand.
