69.5 comp % and zero picks.
Only two quarterbacks in the Big 10 and SEC with zero interceptions and a better comp % are Bennett (73%) and CJ stroud (72%).

Some will still criticize as they can never be happy.

He has played well but a deceptive stat where stats don't tell the full story. When you have no confidence throwing anticipation routes you're not going to throw many INTs and you're also not going to have many yards throwing which he doesn't have.

You posted his completion rate, not his accuracy rate.

Neat to use in a vacuum, but if you watch the games you can see receivers slow down so the ball can catch up.

We have elite receivers.

His accuracy or completion rate is not the issue. It's not seeing the field and throwing the ball when he has receivers open. He doesn't anticipate. He seems like a good kid, and his legs are certainly a weapon. But we're not winning anything with a one dimensional QB. I hope he improves his vision and passing ability.

Don’t get me wrong Daniels definitely needs to clean some things up. He needs to make quicker decisions and take less sacks. But he’s not just “the best we’ve got”. By the end of the year we will be saying we’re lucky to have this guy.

I’m as big a Daniels fan as anyone but he obviously has either not seen or failed to throw to some open WRs and has made some throws that were way off.

I think the disconnect is that some people consider “inaccurate” to mean that he is kinda off on most of his throws, but Daniels problem is that he has a lot of throws that are perfectly fine and then some that are garbage.

Classic case of how numbers can be deceiving, he is a 1-2 read then run qb stop trying to prove he’s some type of great passer. He’s average passer with elite running skills as a qb. That’s it

Every stat is deceptive to an extent. And it’s impossible to compare QBs across CFB perfectly. I think it’s safe to say Stroud/Bennett are on much better teams and have better O-lines. Point is, Daniels is playing really well and taking care of the ball

He also has a bunch of passes that are catchable but poorly placed. Even that TD to Jenkins was thrown behind him causing him to stop, then having to run a defender over. If he hit him in stride he goes in to the end zone untouched.

That’s pretty much the point of looking at PFF vs raw stats. A poor throw can end up being a TD, and a perfect throw could end up going incomplete. Context matters.

Completion % doesn’t always equate to accuracy. A 30 yard out to the sideline is much more impressive than a 7 yard comeback.

Lol they’re acting like I went dumpster diving for stats. Comp % is one of the most telling stats you can look at.
“How many yards tho!”
“Our WRs are so elite!”
“Have you watched the games”
Meanwhile all the other cfb QBs (who they probably haven’t watched) get every benefit of the doubt.
“Surrounded by inferior talent!”

He has thrown two 5 yard outs to the best receiver in the country in 3 games. I understand their concern but he is our best option and he does what he has been coached to do.

What those numbers do not tell you is the number of times he failed to throw to open receivers. Also, his yards per pass attempt is 5.7. That is anemic, but feel free to trumpet what an effective passer he is.
