RIP Mr Long.
Emailed him a few times over the years, he always replied and he always took the time to talk out in public at an LSU event.
Great LSU Tiger fan that's gonna be missed.

RIP Dandy Don. My prayers are with you and your family. You will be sorely missed.

I have checked Dandydon.com every morning for years and years, make annual contributions to his website and believe that his son will continue his legacy. He was a true Tiger!

Geaux in peace, Don.

I was so sad to read his site and hear this news this morning. It is the first thing I read every day. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

His site has been part of my morning routine for many years and the Thanksgiving and Christmas stories are part of our own holiday tradition. Rest in Peace, Tiger.

quote:

To all of you faithful readers and loyal friends who have kept my dear father, “Dandy” Don Long, in your thoughts and prayers, I would like to thank you and let you know of his passing today at 3:57 a.m. The greatest man I’ve ever known, and perhaps the most dedicated Tiger Fan there has ever been, suffers no more and will be missed more than words could ever describe. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but I will keep you all posted.

God Bless Don, Scott, and the whole Long family. I think I have to agree that Don was probably the most dedicated Tiger Fan there has ever been. Tiger Nation has suffered a terrible loss today, but we will also revel in all that he did for LSU. I will pray that his family knows how much he meant to the LSU community, and how many will be praying for him and for them today...
