Obviously they brought up OBJ and Juice, but they went on to mention La'el Collins and Jeremy Hill. They mentioned that Odell and Jarvis are record holders at this point for having the most catches in history for players in their first two years out of college. Went on to talk about having all of these guys on the same team, and it's a family show, but you can tell they wanted to say, "Holy shite what a group." They have obviously been going on and on about how people can't get enough of Odell. Good publicity for LSU and I hope that potential recruits are influenced by it.

Oh wow, I've never looked at it from that perspective.

Go frick yourself. It's some positive publicity. We all know LSU didn't win a national championship with them, and it was disappointing.

A lot of ball games, and I enjoyed them all

Edit: they did win an SECC in 2011.
But yeah that year sucked, 2001 Rohan to Reed sucked pretty bad too. I can't believe miles lost 3 games with that kind of talent (Rohan, reed, Clayton, toefield, Davis)... Oh wait who was the coach?

Just not the ones that mattered most.

Thanks Les.

ETA: That SEC Championship is a pretty hollow achievement given what happened in the very next game.

If you can't enjoy football without a national championship idk what to tell you. Saban is better than miles (and everyone), plain and simple. And we can't have him, and we have to beat him (sometimes twice) to get the hardware

I want to win badly too. But when I think back about years like that I appreciate how special it was rather than bitch that we didn't win the NC. You know in 100+ years of tiger football we officially* have 3 NCs right?

I brought up this same topic last night and the permanent trolls on this board called me out and said bad things about my momma. As usual the permanent trolls, (listers with tens of thousands of replies) were wrong again. Pussies.

If you notice, they didn't mention any defensive players.

Lol, no. Even with the bed shitting in the NC game that was one of the greatest seasons ever for a college football team and every LSU fan should be proud of that team.

2012 Clemson had Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, DeAndre Hopkins, Martavius Bryant, Jaron Brown, and Andre Ellington, and that's just offensive skill players. They didn't accomplish that much more than us (a Chickfila Bowl win) and arguably had just as much talent.

Ive seen the neighborhood kids talk of making an "Odell" catch when playing football at the playground. It is great publicity.

Yes, it was probably my favorite LSU season ever and I've been watching since the early 80s.

I just meant that even though we won the SECCG, getting smoked by Bama in the NCG kind of makes it feel like we didn't really win the conference.

As a fan, the lack of a national championship sucks, because that's all we get to keep after they are gone. As a player, that is something you want, but in the big picture, as far as how they benefited by coming to LSU, I think where they are now speaks for itself. these guys became who they are on and off the field at LSU. I doubt they'd tell you they regretted their decision or their time at LSU if you asked.

From the context of what this thread is about, recruiting and positive publicity for the LSU program with regards to the success of its former players, that is a huge positive.

I don't see the value in diminishing their time at LSU, unless your goal is to dissuade future recruits from coming here. Why would a fan want to do that?
