He's not an Hebert. He's close with O, though. Tub is one of the best insiders out there. Has been spot on every time in his short stint.

That fella having a seizure, temper tantrum, and threatening to cancel his 247 subscription isn't a real fan.

They were going to pay Les $15,000,000. Just to frickin leave. Seems they can pay the best recruiter we've ever had $900,000 to stay here. Makes zero sense!!!!

To be a DC? If he wanted that position, he had ample opportunity to be it here.

I doubt it. Have you ever heard of The Peter Principal? An employee can be fantastic at a job yet suck at the one up position. There is nothing wrong with being a great position coach and recruiter. O has reached the apex of his career, and he's apparently great at it. He will probably fail if he tries to move higher.

My point was that if he wanted to be a DC, he could have easily (this is my personal opinion) been one at LSU after Steele was hired by Auburn.

The only thing I have even seen him openly state that would make him consider leaving would be for a HC position at a power 5 school.

You're missing out on good conversation and two of the best recruiting analyst in the buisness.

I think LSU pays him and he stays. IMO he will get around 700 to 750 and that will be enough to keep him here.

I love how just a few short years ago the narrative here was that "O has a vendetta against LSU" & now it's all "he bleeds p&g". Buncha clowns, lol
I wouldn't use the word vendetta, but there is logic to trying extra hard against a team that won't hire you or where you want to go... especially in coaching. Seriously, if you get beat out on the recruiting trail by Coach O at USC on a regular basis, you're going to look at him harder to hire. Just the way it works in the business of CFB.

However, if that's true (and I think it is) and the vendetta is a mis-interpretation, then so is "bleeds P&G". He does have an affinity for LSU no doubt. Makes keeping him easier, but not a definite. Still gotta pony up with the respect, accolades, and $$$

LSU needs to keep O but it if they give him a raise above Frank Wilson. I could see that being a problem.

Am told MissState & Dan Mullen did NOT offer Ed Orgeron the MSU DC job. It never got that far. Orgeron really wants to remain an #LSU Tiger.

Or maybe he wanted the DC but miles passed him over. Now he's not happy and wants out.
