Jody Demling a mod from Louisville 247 said “ I am told that Dan McDonnell was in the office at the Louisville baseball complex all five days this week

So, if he was in fact in Baton Rouge on Thursday he had a quick flight or a double standing in for him. Was also told by an SEC/college baseball source that LSU might have already made a run in Dan's and he said no. Will continue to monitor the situation as always!”

Again, as I said, TIFWIW. We’re all just passing on info that’s been passed on to us. Just what my guy told me.

I have no idea if he was in BR but I’ve gone to my office in the morning and been to a meeting that evening on the West Coast. It’s not hard and I don’t have the luxury of a private jet.

I have no idea whether or not he's met with LSU, but that meeting could have taken place in Louisville just as easily as Baton Rouge, or by conference call

I don't believe for one second the guy was in BR the day before he hosts a regional. HIs agent, quite possibly.

Dan McDonnell physically being in BR to discuss the head baseball coaching position on Thursday, June 3, 2021. No chance.

They didn’t host a regional, aren’t even in the tournament

I don't know how much I really buy the line about turning LSU down. If he turned them down through back channels there never would've been any smoke, and if LSU came at him officially that should be all over the place.

Damnit!! I am hung up on either Vitello or Godwin. Multitasking here in the office. Not even going to edit for my dumbassery.

Doubt they’ll be on campus until presser. With how things are run now, Woody likely met somewhere else or just called by phone. No coach really needs to come to campus to know about facilities and such.

I’m putting my chips on Cliff Godwin. I don’t know if he will leave ECU but IMO he’s the best we can do right now. His teams just execute well in all phases. And always has pitching depth. McDonald would be a good choice but….Louisville will scrap to keep him. Moving to the SEC in baseball, especially right now, takes a bold individual.

Coaches are competitive. They want to beat the best of the best.
