I remember being in many meetings with Dan when he was president of LCA. Fine gentleman.

Can we bring back Sid ?
why did you get upvoted and I got downvoted for saying the same damn thing?

I simply meant that, when I was growing up, and in school at LSU, Sid was the PA guy, and had a unique voice and is part of my LSU memories.

Hopefully they play taped versions of Borne’s call of “it is Saturday night in Death Valley”.

I've never walked into Tiger Stadium and not heard Dan Borne's voice. As on other mentioned, that's part of the Tiger Stadium lore and familiarity.

I can feel it. 7pm kickoff. I'm rushing into the stadium with buddies who have never been to a game before. We're a bit behind because we've had a days worth of fun between the parade grounds, the quad and the Indian mounds. Electing for that last beer is putting us close to missing the band. We start rushing up the ramps to Section 214.

We walk out of the tunnel to the site of Tiger Stadium. Wow my buddy says. We make our march up to Row 27. I find my seat. I turn to face south and Dan Borne belt's out "a chance of rain...never".

What a place man!

Dam this guy is a legend. I still remember his voice when I was in school in 2008-2013.

That, and ‘Big Red screaming ‘Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait! from the top row of the South End Zone are some great memories of the ‘60’s in Tiger Stadium

I am very sad to hear this news. Somehow this hit me like I was hearing the news of a beloved family member falling ill.

I don’t know him, but sitting in Tiger Stadium so many evenings hearing his voice “Chance of rain, NEVER.” was my happy place.

Sitting in a warm September downpour, I could tell that voice had a personality and a sense of irony. I feel sad for future generations who won’t have that same connection to their AI Stadium Bots.
