Would you rather them not be made at all?

Clark is playing for his 3rd DC and third defensive scheme in 3 yrs. MLB is one of the hardest to learn because the position is put into conflict by the offensive schemes every week which are all different by the way.

If playing MLB gets you a lot of tackles then where is Baskerville on that list... he dont catch any flak on here

I get that it's hard. Lots of things are hard. But you judge a player by how he compares to his peers. And he just leaves a bit to be desired, in my opinion.

And Baskerville definitely catches flak. It's just not as much because he has a much shorter history. We barely saw him play until late last year.

His biggest problem, other than his horrible 2020, is that he is not Devin White. Other than that, he’s awesome.

Clark wasn’t bad last week. Baskerville was awful vs Kentucky

Obviously it is hard for posters on here to comprehend what they are seeing. Think of it as addition by subtraction...

If Clark is so bad then someone else must be picking up the slack. Here is LSU's SEC tackle leaders

#1 NCAA, #1 SEC Clark
#25 SEC BAskerville
#55 SEC Ward
#67 SEC Flott
#71 SEC Ojulari
#84 SEC Burns
#91 SEC Lewis

So if Clark is sooooooo bad then someone else must be picking up the slack and making all those tackles for a loss because everyone knows he is chasing ball carriers 10 yds downfield. I am sorry I am just not seeing it.

You see what you want to see. Back in 2018 Devin White chased players down from behind and people said he was the best athlete on the field (rightly so) but when DC does that it was because he misread the play, not that he was cleaning up other players junk. Dont worry, I am not saying DC is Devin White or anything near but he is not the trash he is purported to be by the parrots on this board

that statistic needs a whole truckload of context.

Impossible. I read on the Rant he was awful.

You realize that tackles alone is an awful metric especially for a LBer. He makes a ton of tackles down the field and very few plays at the line of scrimmage. He’s a physically gifted athlete that has no business being the leader of the defense.

I actually think he was unfairly hated for the celebration against Auburn. The dude saved a TD and was pumped about it, at least he had some pride. Yeah, the overall play wasn't good and they inevitably scored, but I ain't going to hate on the guy for having passion.

I think the hate Damone gets is unwarranted. He had a bad year last year, because he was put into some bad positions by the previous defensive staff. Currently, he is having a great year.
