Dalton Beck: can those familiar explain why no PT?

Very average baseball follower here
To be honest I didn’t know who he was until his pinch hit appearance in an SEC game about a month ago
He followed that up with a pinch hit base hit against Tennessee (107 mph off the bat) that helped turn that game around. Then went 1-1 for Southeastern in the midweek and we haven’t seen him since. Kind of a head scratcher to go to him twice in crucial situations then he disappears.
The Southland Conf player of the year winner a season ago with a 164 wRC+.
It seems with the revolving door in RF and DH spot that he would get a shot but that hasn’t comes to fruition.
It also appears he’s behind Larson in the lefty pinch hit situations as well.

Very good analysis for such an average follower. You have it figured out. Anything else you need to figure out?

He was the Newcomer of the year. Not POY

Who are you going to sit to give him at bats?

I’d rather him pinch hitting than Reeves right now

Wisey
Jay has the Pearson love fest going and Jake Brown available who are both LH and can actually play the field or DH.
Then when it comes to pinch hitting, he has Larson and Reaves he prefers.
I don't think he is comfortable playing Beck in the field so he has really only gotten ABs in final hour situations. But i was thinking last night would have been a good time to use him late in the game

I think Beck needs a few pinch hit ABs
Pinch hit for Reaves he’s terrible

I recommend you consult with the board’s resident expert - KTC.
With his brilliant insight that no one else had, he just recently announced that he was right about Ethan Frey just needing playing time.

Maybe you can secure a consultation with him. Spoiler alert: Beck just needs more playing time.

bullshite. “Average” baseball followers have no idea what that stat is.
Here’s a post from 2011 where you are discussing your fantasy baseball players (you have a bunch of posts your created about different positions) TD.com
So why start your whole post off with a lie?

Idk but Ashton Larson (.200 SEC BA), Tanner Reaves (.238 SEC BA), John Pearson (.200 SEC BA), Cade Arrambide (.000 SEC BA) have all gotten more opportunities than him…

He and Larson I think are pretty equal in hitting ability. He’s behind Larson because he is a senior and Larson is a sophomore. Larson’s mom has been overheard in the stands talking about him hitting the transfer portal, so maybe Jay is giving Larson the AB’s to keep him around. Who knows

Who overheard this?

I think it is because him, Larson and Reaves are close in regards to pecking order for left handed pinch hit role and Beck can't come back next year.
I would give Beck some of those opportunities soon and see what happens. If others transfer, they transfer.

Here is an interesting question about Beck. Did he use a red shirt year yet? If not, has he not played enough in order for Jay to give him a redshirt this year because he could be in the line up next yr? Maybe Jay is trying to save his eligibility?

I’m an average LSU baseball follower
I watch zero games. I read box scores and watch “Wheels” highlights on YouTube.

Reaves should not even be in this discussion at all.
