Coach O has mentioned that Stingley wants to try and play both ways at some point.

How does tRant feel about this?
I personally think he is a phenom at DB and that is where his value and future is in the NFL. Would he be a force on offense? Most likely, he is a freak athlete. But why risk the injury when CB is such a coveted position in today's game?

Thoughts?

Would make him an extremely strong heisman candidate. Woodson won heisman with like 11 receptions

I don't think he's better than what you have there now.
With Chase and Marshall leaving after this year, he may be able to get a few reps in 21
His value is on defense though and you can't risk injury on offense or special teams in my opinion.
If he does get any snaps on offense in 21 it will have to be in the flow of the game. You are not going to run him out there after a long drive by the other team's offense. But there may be instances you can use him certain sets and situations.

Pretty sure its going to be his junior year. Don't think we'll see any of him on the O side of the ball this year.

We are deep at WR, but if Stingley wants the ball and CEO wants to give it to him, why not.

Stingley could play both ways in 2021 as Coach promised his dad that he stays at CB for first two years! Period.

He still returns kicks and punts

This year it doesn’t really make sense I don’t agree with taking receptions away from Chase and Marshall for sure and even McMath, but you are going to have a lot of turnover at the WR position going into 2021 so i would understand giving him a shot to take some reps over there.

This reminded me of Donte Jackson and Jacoby Stevens getting offensive touches

Once you start harping on not getting injured that’s when bad shite starts happening, look at Delpit early on in the year last year.

An extra 10 snaps on offense or less isn’t going to drive the injury risk through the roof. If he wants to do it and O wants to let him, let’s have some fun.

Why not with Chase gone in 2021* he’ll be the best player on the field both ways

Neither of those guys are generational talents.

Stingley is a Charles Woodson talent.

I'd say Stingley should stay at CB... the only reason to play a guy both ways is if you don't have someone on offense that can do the same things. We have great receivers so why would you take them off the field and put more wear and tear on Stingley...

I just don't get it. Unless it was a request from Stingley before he came here, what is the point? We arguably have more talent at the WR position than any team in the country. Our top 5 WRs are the fastest group of WRs assembled now that Bama has lost Jeudy and Ruggs. We just got the highest rated TE of all time. Our backup RBs caught 27 passes last year behind our lead RB, who caught 55.

Again, if he requested it, fine, but we don't really need an Adoree Jackson type player.

another weapon is another weapon

I like the idea of him playing a few series on offense, especially if he takes some of the defenses attention away

O said Stingley’s dad insisted that he develop as a CB for two years, then they could discuss letting him take snaps at WR in 2021.

O also said that if he and his dad agree that DS is fully developed as a CB after 2020 and dad gives the green light to play him at WR some in his junior year, he will play him both ways.

I don’t think he will see many offensive snaps this year. We probably lose all 3 starting WR’s going into next year. No reason not to give him at least 5-10 snaps a game at WR if that’s what he was promised and wants. He has earned that right, and will be a big benefit for the team.

No use playing the what if he gets hurt game. Because what if he doesn’t get hurts and gives us 5-10 TD’s next year in a depleted WR corps with very minimal experience.

People didn’t want PP7 and TM7 risking getting hurt with punt returns. What if we didn’t let them return punts.....They never got hurt.
