The truth is that the way we play ball doesn't work in Omaha. Yes, having to live up to Bertman expectations is unfair to anyone. But playing in this new park, baring an 8 run miracle in bottom of 9th, we are 0-5 in the new park. You have to adapt to win championships. Unfortunately our coach hasn't.
In what way does our style of play not match the ballpark. We run more than anyone. We hit for average more than power.
What the hell are you talking about?

Well, there are two SEC schools who have managed to notch titles since we won a game in Omaha. One of them twice.
If you aren't winning titles, you aren't setting anyone's standard. Period.

no matter what happens in Omaha I'm very very happy with this season. I was happy with 2013 too. But most people ignore our 50+ wins both season and think we suck because we lost two games in the post season.
1 or 2 games do not define a whole season. The Bama loss in the NCG did not define the 2011 season to me. We won 13 games. Some people are just miserable and obviously have no life outside of sports.

... and you continue to be stupid .. You are happy with our stock piling wins against the non-conference garbage we play at home ? This is like Mickey Goldmill's scheduling in Rocky III ..
winning the SEC is no small accomplishment.

That was a fitting final shot of Manieri, just scratching his head.

Thank God that's over. What an error fest, worst game of the year....

LSU sure looked real motivated that at bat

TCU did to us what we've done to teams all season.

One of best ERAs in country is pitching. LSU didn't pitch well today. Outlier.

Yep, that and we pitched Stallings, let's not pitch him again.
Wish Poche wouulda got pulled with 60 pitches.
Sucks Poche had 2 errors, not much era

I just think it's funny that you think a reasonable standard for the program is to be "the standard" of the sport.

This team is soft. Did not answer the bell when adversity struck. Instead, they moped around and went through the motions. Really disappointed with that.

The predominance of big swings lately, leading to lots of Ks and fly outs. This was a problem throughout the regional and super regional, especially with RISP. It wasn't quite as bad today, but there were still several big wiffs. I'm glad we got a homer today, but you can't live on power in this park. That is a recipe to lose.
