Yeah that is a fair and totally valid point. Look I really enjoyed the guy, first time I met him was in the Union he was just standing in line ordering Chick-Fil-A, I mean this was before he had ever coached a game so nobody knew who he was, "I said good luck this year" I just happened to be wearing a basketball shirt from high school and my coach at the time in high school now coaches D-1 and Wade had recruited 2 guys to Chattanooga from there so we kept talking, and I got to meet him again through an AAU buddy. Then a fraternity brother was a manager on the basketball team. But he never was above talking to fans which I was really impressed by.

Basically and this is my own small assessment. He is in a sense the ultimate basketball nerd at heart. But everything in a sense that he was doing was an unintentional and intentional FU to all of the blue blood wannabe establishment types in CBB. I liked the attitudes his teams played with because a team should reflect a head coach. Again like this year, he would repeatedly say "The refs cant call every foul." On the recruiting trail he was not just going after top players,

it was what schools they went to and where they were from. He was going to Oak Hill probably the most famous basketball power in the country and averaging 1 recruit a cycle, you have coaches that have been at schools for 15 years and still cant get a kid from there, that was an FU.

The wire tap deal about Javonte Smart, Coach Cal at Kentucky is as slimy as they come in CBB which is both an insult and compliment. Cal really wanted Smart basically like any transaction Cal was pushing and pushing and Javonte is going back and forth over what offer and who to choose. Finally as you heard Wade had enough we made a strong arse offer if you wanna go to Kentucky go there, they would find a way to make it work if he wanted to be at LSU and they did. How Cal felt you could just see him lose it, he just got outed in front of the entire basketball community in college that he lost out on a kid to Will Wade of all people in humiliating fashion.

But the progression was undeniable from year one to today. 2 of the top 10 if not Top 5 transfer portal signees from last year signed with LSU. Had the #2 recruiting class by class average. He had finally gotten over the hump and LSU was a #6 seed they could not screw us over 3 selection sundays in a row, then people might start to question the integrity of the NCAA . But it matters when you start getting consistent 5 and 6 seeds or better those voters dont watch hardly any of the teams play but they will look at past brackets and that goes into their decision making 100%. But he was an idiot just flat out stupid, to not use a conduit or a handler quite literally what they are setup to do. Funnel cash and stay away. He just threw it all away.
