It's untested as a unit, and not very deep, but if it holds up we're in very good shape.

Don't look past us, or you'll be looking up and trying to read the plates on that which trucked you.

I feel sorry for Barkley - he's a good qb.

I used the Auburn game as a barometer, because it was your last game, and a common opponent.

You can call it circular logic, if that suits you. Since all of this discussion is based on perception and predictabilities, outcomes will vary widely.

I'm not ready to call LSU's interior defense weaker than Auburn's at the beginning of last season, anymore than you are willing to call Oregon's OL weaker than it was at the same time.

What I am willing to say, is that Auburn's defense didn't wreak havoc in the SEC, but looked spectacular out of conference, and that was with a suspect secondary at best.

I am aware that Oregon has big play potential, and I'm not naive enough to think we won't see a sample of it come September. But, history tells me that a neutral site, turf, domed stadium, at night, against an out of conference opponent is an LSU lock.

Auburn was not spectacular against Oregon but held the interior line. We still got 440 yards.

First off, sincerely, all prayers to Kragthorpe and his family. As a WVU fan, he was an opponent for many years while at UL, but was always respected as a coach and a man.

Having said that, how much is promoting a guy who has been with LSU for a while to OC gonna solve last year's offensive woes?

I want LSU to stomp Oregon, but unfortunately, this doesnt bode well for LSU going into the season.

I hope all goes well for you against Oregon, but me worries about how much it is going to matter when WVU gets our W against you guys if you go on a no-offense downward slide.

440 yards and you scored 11 points in the first half and 8 in the second half, not to mention you didn't even eclipse 100 yards rushing with the so called best RB in the country. It doesn't matter how many yards you can put up if you don't score. That said I expect LSU to win but not in a blowout fashion. Possibly 24-14 or 28-17. The first game of the year shouldn't be a barn burner. I think LSU's defense will be effective and shutdown Oregon for the most part. LSU tends to be susceptible to the big play and that worries me. (Auburn last year, Ole Miss last year). With Les Miles track record coming off time to prepare I feel like LSU has this in the bag. We are LSU fans though, so expect something dramatic.

Not me.

I think it'll be a close, tough, hard-fought game... with the Tigers coming out with a 3-7 pt. win.

Throwing the ball against the pass defense that finished dead last in the SEC last year.

Not sure why people even compare last year's Auburn defense to this year's LSU defense. Last year Auburn was stout against the run, weak against the pass. This year LSU is going to (again) be stout against the pass, the question is how they'll do against the run.

Just not a lot to be learned by comparing what Auburn did last year to what LSU might do this year.

Count me in. 41-14 LSU. Gotta have much better QB play than has happened in the last 3 years.

Regardless of how poorly you were able to run the ball against Auburn, my belief that LSU will win convincingly (even if not on the scoreboard), is due to the fact that LSU will commit to stopping the run.

You stated yourself that Oregon will be in trouble, if they find themselves having to gain yards through the air. Most everyone will agree with this.

You know, the funny thing is, LSU has had three years of playing against a stacked box, with less than mixed results, yet still find a way to win. Some of it fortuitous bounces, some of it is planned, but mostly, it's just having size and speed at every position.

Crowton didn't do a very good job of exploiting these type of advantages. He was into outthinking the other guy. Playing chess, when he should have been playing checkers.

I think you're going to be in for a good old fashioned three yards and a cloud of dust come September. And I like our chances.

Good luck with your preparations, I hope it's all used up by game time.

I think you mispelled in Anus in your name.

You're a little cocky. You have a right to be confident because the Ducks are good.

Our offense will be fine. You havento remember, defenses can set up scores. We laid 40+ on a pretty damn good aTm defense in Dallas.

Thanks for the prayers, seriously. But the OC thing will not be a big deal this year. Miles has said himself that Krag will still be in every huddle, every game meeting, every Booth. He will have a big say in our offensive game plans, and the guy we promoted has had extensive experience as an OC. So maybe we hire someone next year, but as it stands, things will go pretty much according to plan. I think this was done before the season as a precautionary, in case Krags health diminishes faster than expected. We wouldn't want to address these particulars mid season if we have to.
