I think Stanfield has better range and a better arm. This seems to be a decision that Curriel requested, but I have nothing to back that up on.

You're right. We may have been able to win a championship if Jay made that move

I think the range part is offset by Curiel seeming to get better jumps. But they're close in what they can get to.

Curiel had a shoulder thing last year which really affected his arm, so at least last year, Stanfield had a better arm. I don't know what Curiel's will be like this year, but I don't think it's a particular strength of either of them.

using fielding % is a really poor way to judge how good an outfielder is. A really bad outfielder can end the season without many errors. not saying either are bad outfielders, but I'm not going to look at that particular statistic to make that call.

Draft value for Curiel. And he’s a better OF, anyway.

Really draft value? No bro his value will be high no matter where he plays in college.

Yes. MLB is beating down the doors for corner OFs with questionable power profiles.

Him proving he can capably play CF offsets his lack of power projection.

Also, to take your statement to its illogical extreme, let's see how his draft value would look if we put him at 3rd base.

Which is ultimately a recruiting benefit. That and fulfilling promises, which again ties into recruiting.

It doesn't matter where he plays in the Outfield. When he gets to the pros he will be a CF or LF. His stock will not drop if he continues to play LF in college.

Remember Jake Mangum played CF for Mississippi St. Well he plays alot of LF for them. If you can hit at the MLB level they will find a spot for you in the outfield.

You sure you want to use a senior sign that got $20K in the draft to bolster your case for this?

Absolutely. My point is if you can hit they will find a spot for you and it doesn't have to be your natural spot in the outfield.
