Did they just say Paul calls one of his pitches a splinkler?

Posted on 5/11/24 at 3:15 pm to saint tiger225
Probably meant splinker lol. Splitter sinker
Posted on 5/11/24 at 3:15 pm to saint tiger225
Yes it’s a nasty pitch too. I think a few pitchers throw it now but not many

He should settle in now.
You know he was nervous AF that inning with those 101-102 fastballs.

The only one I’m aware of off the top of my head is Jhoan Duran of the Twins. It’s exceedingly rare but a devastating pitch if you can land it

College seemed he over powered. Today so far his off speed made MLb guys look foolish. Great start.

Anyone in Pittsburgh going to the game?
Saw two women in P&G. Wonder if they at least lurk here.

That "flyout" to end the inning had an exit velocity of 107.5mph and an expected batting avg of .970.

Maybe the Jones & Skenes pitching duo will rub off on the Pirates hitting and they will turn it around at the plate?

Also, screw Florida for face planting too early in Game 3 so we didn’t get to see one last appearance.

Thanks for all the responses. I thought I was hearing shite and I haven't even smoked or drank anything yet.
Maybe that's the issue.

That long fly out to deep center is why he should be in the bigs and never go back. He wasn't learning anything in AAA just mowing motherfrickers down. But those dudes in the bigs can hit. Facing them is gonna make him so much better. I bet he's the odds-on favorite to win the '25 Cy Young. Unless that Jones kid is as good as everybody says. Crazy that the Pirates could have the best 1/2 in baseball soon.

One can certainly hope.
They also called up their top AAA hitting prospect, Nick Gonzales this week.
