1. 3rd game of season 2. We’ve had like 1 good season the past 15 years so we have few “basketball fans” and even less casual fans 3. It’s always loud for big games (read:Kentucky)

All of this. Attendance and crowd participation will come as the program builds. Our basketball program hasn’t been relevant in 10-15 years. It’ll come. Be patient.

Y’all make fun of whiteboard guy and the students in the first few rows of the student section but those were the only ones for Jones last three seasons that actually gave a damn.

In the 80's and 90s LSU basketball went to the tournament 10 straight years, won the SEC 4 times and went to the Final Four.

Two years ago this team was 10-21, last year they were 17-14.

If they keep winning the place will fill up.

The stadium isn't empty because millenials are lazy, it's empty because there has been a lot of crappy basketball played in there recently.

That place is going to be full every game by the time conference play starts.

Yeah- that grated on me as well. I want to up to him and if he knows what they call baby tigers. How about “Let me see all you Tiger Cubs out there”? It would be much better.

Definitely needs to be back on the sideline with seats coming down to the floor.

The student seats on the side never came close to the floor anyway. You had two rows of media then wheelchair rows. It basically started halfway up the lower level.

Nah, they came all the way down to the floor until the early 90s, when Joe Dean pushed them back behind that stupid black railing.

The iphone shite is such a cop out too. There are plenty of places who still have electric atmospheres that I'm pretty sure also have cell phone service available.

Last night he referred to the PMAC as Tiger Stadium and the Tiger Dome. I don’t mind him ,but I had to shake my head at that.

An underestimated part of the problem in general with all sports is Baton Rouge traffic.

If the city somehow figures out how to solve that my guess is LSU sports attendance will improve proportionately.

Half the stadium left with 1:30 left so no worries there.

Basketball crowds are always shite. I remember thinking that even in 06 season. The place can be packed but nobody makes any noise. Don’t care what people say about winning blah blah blah. We have had good teams

So.. does anyone actually have a solution, or should we just complain about it more?

1. When the game is close late or in last 10 minutes, crowd begins to yell even the students. When SEC play rolls around, the yelling will be more sustained I believe.

2. Please don't criticize us old farts who come to every game and stay the entire time. Some of us stand and yell quite often. Every bigtime college basketball power has arenas full of older people.

You get 1-2 “superfans” like Guillot or the K lady in baseball and they get raked through the coals on here. Look at whiteboard guy for example. Most of the students these days at football games are pretty pathetic too outside of neck or the first-second-third down stuff. It’s gonna take everyone to build some type of consistency to at least get a good stream of noise going.

So true. people who try to bring some enthusiasm to the atmosphere get ridiculed beyond belief. I sit near several younger folks at the basketball games who I've never seen cheer or yell in 2 years. They're too cool for that. They're there to post selfies and so forth on social media. That's all you'll see them doing. As an older fart I'll challenge the young air biscuits to man up and cheer for your team.

Unfortunately I can't make it Friday night. How terrible. I'm 2 for 3 so far.
Head it up. I'll be there for Grambling.

Guillot gets the baseball crowd cheering. I like him.

A Superfan dressed up like a kid at Halloween overly drawing attention to himself is not going to get the rest of the students yelling. We need more noise not more weirdos.

The change has to come from each of the students and they just don’t care as much about basketball than other sports or other activities. Hopefully that will change but please, stop with the weirdos throwing t shirts in my face after every basket during a LIVE game. If anything that takes attention away from the game and creates more things distracting from the product on the floor

We need more Red Panda and less weirdos in the student section.
