I get that it's early and that he has a good average right now, and it's been just this weekend, but it feels as if DC might be headed toward a sophomore slump. He delivered in clutch situations all last year, but this weekend with runners on he's failed to produce.

Thoughts?

He had several slumps last year people just don’t remember because they were few and far between

Don’t doubt Dylan Crews

What a weird take to have with no data to back it up.

He’s arguably the best player in college baseball. He’ll be fine.

I mean, watch any given series in MLB every weekend and there will be pros who are not hitting their average. A slump would be something that stretches out over some time

Okay so obviously there's backlash.

Yes he's batting .440+. I know.

But In our two biggest games so far:

vs. LA Tech: 0-3
vs. Texas: 2-5

He's hitting ropes but they're being caught

.400 is bad against the #1 team in the nation with excellent pitching staff?

So he hit .400 against the best team we’ve played all year and that’s a slump?

You say you get it but I don’t think you actually get that he still has an incredible average. Baseball is a game of being hot and cold for the most part. He has had a mediocre weekend for him, but for anyone else it would still be considered an above average weekend. It amazes me the IQ level of people who post here and think they actually know what they’re talking about.
