He's lost his aggressiveness from early in the year when he was more of a free swinger.

I disagree. All year Crews has had a patient approach, working counts and taking walks. The difference I’m seeing is that 1) He is missing mistakes and swinging over the top and 2) He is not protecting the plate when he has two strikes, which he was doing marvelously most of the season.

Bro…you are wrong. With runners in scoring position and less than two outs, you hack away up in the count. 2-0, you look for your pitch. Fastball down the middle, your pitch. Up 2-1, you get aggressive because all you need is anything to the outfield or anything on the infield that’s not hit for a DP. Either way, when you are the best player in college, you swing. Like another poster said, he lacks some confidence right now. He’ll get it back, but I bet he’d be the first to tell you he didn’t execute. Just the truth

I don’t blame him for the bases loaded AB - he earned what should have been the go-ahead walk.

His last one was bad though. Already have the lead; be aggressive and bury them.

Those are borderline calls and wayyyy too close to take in that situation.

This isn't knee-jerk, dudarino. It's been happening for a while now. You show your lack of baseball knowledge with such a comment. Instead of adding an opinion that reflects some baseball knowledge, you just hurl insults at other posters. LOL How weak.

I think Crews need to be more aggressive at the plate. He does act like he’s looking for a walk or the perfect pitch.

Forget the batting average. Go up there swinging aggressively at strikes in the zone.

Your knee-jerk take isn't concerning in itself. It's to be expected from RantTards who have always thought they knew more than the coaches.

Hell, my retarded cousin use to show up to LSU Football Coaches radio shows. He'd draw up plays on napkins at the restaurant and try to give them to the LSU Football Coach during a break in the radio shows.

100% serious. He did this to Hallman, Dinardo, Saban, and Miles.

You people remind me of my retarded cousin.
Awesome story about how retarded your family is. I'm sure you guys all have a super intelligent grandfather.

This is stupid. If you said go up to the plate and take the first pitch or take till a strike then it would make sense, but there is no world where a hitter, especially one the caliber of Crews, goes up there or should go up there with the goal of getting walked.

The reality is that he is a great hitter that is struggling right now, and he is still better, while struggling, than 80-90% of players in college. His career doesn’t make him immune from criticism though. What it seems to me is that the trajectory of this season has made him more passive and also more indecisive at the plate. He was hitting every pitch in the book early in the year, so then no one pitched to him during the middle of the season. As a result, he seems to be expecting no one to pitch to him anymore, but these last 3 teams that are playing for their lives with not much to lose have come right at him for the most part.

Time to remember who he is and go up with a more aggressive approach. He is the heart of the team, and it’s time to kick it in hyperdrive.

The 2-0 fastball in the first bases loaded at bat was something you come out of your shoes on

Typically I'd agree but in this case the UGA pitcher had just hit a batter and walked the next 2. I'm making dude throw me a strike at that point before I swing. After that though he's got to take the bat off his shoulder. The pitch her got called out on was an easy pitch to handle and hit to right field to get the run home.

At this point I’d put Thompson as the cleanup. I’m joking but that’s how weird this season has been.

In his defense on those last 2 K's the balls were clearly a foot off of the plate. Ump was all over the place last night and it changed inning by inning.
