CPM making his case for 1 more year...

Said this team reminds him of 2008 - all it takes is a spark. And he ended by saying remember what happened in 2009.
Only problem with this is that he boxed himself into a 2008 type run.

The old “buying time” ploy.

I mean, making the CWS is the expectation anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Not surprising since so much of his strategy is based on luck.

I think he is like miles in truly not seeing how bad he is now. He is done.

2008 is the last hope for this team. So of course he’s going to reference it. And why wouldn’t he? If he wants the team to believe it’s possible he has a ready made example to use. I don’t blame him for invoking that season.
That being said, I don’t see the core on this team that existed on that one.

23 game SEC win streak in 2008...sounds good.

Javi ain’t walking through that door

That team had these freshmen and sophomores contributing:
Dean
Schimpf
LeMehieu
Gibbs
Mitchell
Landry
Ochinko
Ross
Bradshaw
Burticcini
Ranaudo was on the team as well although didn’t contribute much.

Comparing him to Les Miles at this point is doing CLM a disservice
Our baseball team is atrocious

Cool maybe Matt Clark will show up to bash 28 homers

I doubt anyone can name the 3 pitchers who had the most starts that year without looking it up.

Bradford Verdugo Blake Martin?

Replace Bradford with Jordan Brown
Posted on 3/29/21 at 10:25 pm to ell_13
I forgot about Jordan Brown
He started game 1 of the 2008 regional
He’s my go to example of why you can pitch anyone you want in the 1/4 game when the idiots here say we should pitch the ace

Jordan had 10 starts. Bradford had 9. I completed forgot about Verdugo. He and Martin had 18 starts each.
