Eh, you asked the stupid fricking rhetorical question first. I only answered the stupid fricking rhetorical question.

That said, yes, CPM and a roster loaded with great players did, in fact, win the CWS in 09. Geaux Tigers.

Two highly competitive people in a stressful competitive situation. Sometimes temper flare it happens. I bet it happens at a lot of places in all sports that we don't know about.

They were on CPM's staff when he took Notre Dame to the CWS?

BOOM! Idiots on here were saying Chavis was propping up Miles.

I've seen a lot of changes in my lifetime, but one constant is that most critics of coaches and politicians will ever be plentiful and ever be idiots.

CPM is an excellent coach. He hires great assistants. And three times in his decade at LSU, he's sent teams to the CWS that were clearly one of the best two teams in the nation. One of those three times he won it. The other two times three of his most reliable players choked away the opportunity. But CPM had both of those years set up perfectly.

"Top 3 my arse"? Actually he was voted, by his peers, as the SEC's Assistant Coach of the Year last yr. So I guess that makes him #1 for at least one yr? Coaches get mad in the heat of game, especially in games like tourney games, all the time. That's what makes them such great competitors. Recall Johnny Jones' demeanor : as one ranter described it best, "he's like a man waiting to catch a bus". CPM & Dunn are fighters in the toughest conference in the country.

wish I could find a gif of Dunn's face when Deichman hit his bomb Tuesday night. He was looking at his card writing something and when he looked up and realized how far it went his face was priceless

I was actually told
No, you weren't. You just read it on the Rant.

My attitude to Dunn and Mainieri having a disagreement is....meh.

Who on this board can honestly say they never see/have disagreements between bosses where they work? It's universal in any competitive environment.

The second inning after Dunn returned from his visit to the mound with Poche after Poche had just issued his second walk and given up some rocket shots.

ETA: Upon further review, and a second pot of coffee, it may have been in the first inning.

I liked it TBH. Even if it's not something you "want" fans/players to see. I'm with you; those arguments happen and more often than not, they're a sign of a good relationship rather than a bad one.

Watching the replay now and the visit was in the first. I didn't see much of anything, other than them talking to each other right before the commercial....

Did I miss something..?

That wasn't a pitcher. That was the manager, I forget who, after he had gotten tossed.

He did that after he got tossed. He was arguing a call, got tossed, then turned into GI Joe
