I don't think it's high enough.

I'd like to know who besides Oregon will bring back a team of studs virtually untouched from the season before? Plus we already have studs on the bench, and an incoming class full of game-changers.

Auburn won't be the same.
TCU loses their star QB.
Wisconsin got exposed as a fraud.
Stanford will lose their QB & Coach.
Ohio St will lose Pryor & five other starters
Mich St got exposed as a fraud.
Arkansas will be good, but I don't think better than this year which was 2nd in the SEC West
Oklahoma loses its star RB and WR, but will return a good team

I think LSU is undoubtedly poised for a title run.

You just described almost every radio show on the air today, including the right wing nut jobs like Limbaugh and Hannity.

Alot of this will depend on Friday night. An impressive win and the QB'S look good then I say yes. A loss and looking bad doing it, and I say out of the top 10 for sure.

While I agree that the pollsters do tend to hang on to bowl results carryover in some instances, the fact that LSU has not lost a game by more than 10 points in the last 26 games will also have some weight. Even when the Tigers don't bring their "A" game they're talented enough to stay with anyone. The talent-level will be very high next season, even if PP leaves as expected. I think LSU will be a cinch for the pre-season top 10 regardless of the outcome of the Cotton based on the above factors. A strong performance, particularly by the returning offensive guys, could enhance the ranking somewhat.

Then you've never listened to Finebaum on XM.

Good God, when listening to Legend and I-Man go at it I don't know whether to laugh or cry. He has lost control of that show, it is pretty much all entertainment and pot-stirring. I can't stand that he tries to take everyone's side - he's like the teacher saying there are no stupid questions.

Cowherd is better than Finebaum, but that's pretty faint praise.

You have to admit though, listening to the Bammers and Barners go at each other is entertaining.

Since he went to XM, he openly admitted that the callers rule the show.

The LSU love is the ONLY good thing about Cowherd. Can you imagine what he would be like to listen to if he didn't respect LSU? Unbearable. I bet his ex-wife has some fricked up stories that he would probably rather not "own".

None of this matters if Crowton is still at OC.

I heard it. It was cool, but totally off the cuff. It's not like he stated it when talking about LSU.

Here's the quote. He was saying how good Arkansas was. "....and they beat LSU, who's going to be #2 or 3, 4 in the pre-season polls next year".

Later he said "and that was versus and LSU team that has athletes everywhere, probably 20 NFL players on the field".
