Could/Should LSU threaten to join the Big 12?

Not really serious.
But then again, they would pay a king's ransom to get a school with LSU's brand name over a Cincinnati or BYU. And in the "playoff era," the Big 12 might be the easiest route. Ask Oklahoma.

for what it is worth, i'd cancel my season tickets if LSU joined the Big 12
I have no interest in watching LSU play Iowa state, Okie lite, tech, baylor and TCU anytime in the near future.

The biggest weaknesses are obvious.
1. We trade a conference that is Alabama's bitch to a conference that is Texas's bitch.
2. The traditionalists would throw a shitfit if we lose Alabama/Ole Miss/Auburn/etc. home games.
HOWEVER, if we flirted with a hard-up conference and told them "WE ONLY PLAY AT NIGHT AND WE HAVE A DEAL," could that be worked out (within reason)? And would you be okay with that?
