What a fantastic article, so much praise from the best players in the league.
Saw an article talking about how if they made a playoff push he could in theory make the 40 man roster this season. Anyone see that one or know where it was referenced?

frick, I hate this time of year with the lack of sports news.
"Hey, this guy throws harder than all but a handful of people who have ever lived, do you think there's a chance he could strike you out?"

Baseball is a sport of humility.
You’ll hear more pros in it say stuff like “of course you could beat me” because the sport is built on resiliency. 3 out of 10.
I knew you wouldn’t hear ball players say “nope we’d all smash the ball”

Paul is such a high ceiling not because of the physical tools, it’s his mental game too. He’s going to get touched up in the MLB like he never has before. It’s how he responds to that and works and bounces back that will determine how good he can be.
He has the attitude and work ethic to get through the growing pains and be elite in the big leagues. That’s what separates him from most.
Not just the stuff.

RHP Josiah Gray, Nationals:

He has top-of-the-rotation stuff, he played at the best university in college baseball, so I think he could get hitters out.

Obviously there’s an adjustment that would probably come, but I think he could definitely get into a rotation and provide some good outings.”

This is the best answer
Of course Skenes could "get MLB players out" today. Guys will far less ability do it every day. But you aren't going to stick around very long if you get 9 guys out while also giving up 5 runs in the process most nights out.
MLB hitter are going to adjust not just AB to AB, but pitch to pitch better than any hitters Skenes has ever faced. They are also going to face him more in a season (particularly division foes) than college opponents who may only see him once, ever. The key will be how quickly he can adjust and if his upward trajectory will continue. The guy went from being a really good player to being a dominant player in just one season. You have to think there is still a lot of room for development there.

My buddy saw Rizzo at the LSU Georgia tailgate in 2019 and as we walked past him my friend said “I could strike you out!” Rizzo replied, “it’s not hard too.” I thought damn that’s a cool pro there…
