quote: Again, the article states Ms. St. reported it to the SEC in July, so why would the SEC not report the allegation to the NCAA then.
exxxcuuuuuse me, but aren't the sec offices in alabama?
the inequity of sec officiating has been questioned in al and au's favor for years b/c of the sec offices being in ALABAMA.

It won't happen. Besides these investigations take forever to go through.

Scenario: No consequences are handed out until after SECCG and Auburn will supposedly play Oregon in BCS. Auburn gets sanctioned for BCS game and Boise St. slides in from the #3 spot to play Oregon in BCS game.

Why would LSU get a win? Auburn would vacate all wins in which Newton played. All the teams Auburn beat would still have losses.

People need to realize that if the NCAA finds out that Auburn violated any rules with recruiting Cam Newton or even worse paid him, that all the schools Auburn beat won't to be credited with victories.
Another thing is some are comparing this to what happened with USC & Reggie Bush. These are two totally different situations. Bush was paid by an agent while at USC. The agent did the payment as a loan, with Bush promising to use him as his agent once he went pro & to pay him back in the future. Once Bush made it to the NFL, he didn't pay back the loan & the agent then went to the NCAA.
Bush was long gone from USC by the time the agent came out with his accusations. Newton's situation is different. Newton is still in school & he & his team are on pace to do big things. If the NCAA even suspects any wrongdoing, they could rule Newton ineligible while they investigate just as they did with the players from North Carolina.
The NCAA will not allow Auburn to have the chance to win a conference title or national title with a player who maybe ineligible. That will led them to speed up the process on this situation. If they rule Newton ineligible until they do a thorough investigation, they will do it so sooner then later in order to be fair to the other SEC schools & other schools contending for a national title.
This would be a huge black eye for the NCAA to allow Auburn to continue playing with a player who maybe found to be ineligible. They would rather Auburn miss out on a chance for a national title then to take the beating in the media that they would receive. The beating I'm referring to would occur if they allowed Auburn to continue playing while their investigation is ongoing. Then once the investigation is finished & if they find that Auburn really did pay Newton, that wouldn't look for the NCAA.
The media would crush the NCAA for allowing that to happen & before that happens, the NCAA would rule him ineligible. I think the NCAA will move really fast on this one & we'll see something done within the next week. Don't be surprised if Cam is watching the Georgia & Alabama game at home.
If Newton & his family did take money from Auburn, I hope Cam used some of the money to get a laptop that wasn't "hot" & kept the receipt for it.
Also what kind of a pastor breaks the rules for money. The members of his church should
