Could Domanick Davis/Williams have been the best NFL back from LSU...

Had he not blown out his knee?
Was just arguing with a Michigan fan saying he doesn't see how Fournette would want to go to LSU because we haven't produced any good NFL running backs.
I brought up the last 15 years as reference and I mean I already knew of Ridley Faulk and Addai(as good NFL backs), but I didn't know Davis was that good in his short stint:
2003 10 GP/ 1031 8 TDs/ 351 Rookie of the Year
2004 15 GP/ 1188 13 TDs/ 588 1 TD
2005 11 GP/ 976 2 TDs/ 337 4 TD
Yards from Scrimmage
1382 8 TDs
1776 14 TDs
1313 6 TDs
I believe he would could have been one of the top 5 backs of the last decade have that not happened.

I have often thought of this. He was a great back for one year and a really good back the rest. If only his knees wouldve held up. Nice representative for the tigers.
Kevin Faulk is still the best though.

I think he would have been a solid top 10-15 running back in the league for about 7 or 8 years, top 5 in the last decade is a little bit extreme.

Top 5? No
Top 20? Yes

I think Alley Broussard could have been a good NFL back had he not messed up his knee

First off, you are arguing with a Michigan fan. Hell, they still believe they had a chance to beat BAMA.
Secondly, why would someone want to go play for Michigan. They can't even beat OSU

Harvey Williams
Biggest and most awkward signing day surprise for LSU ever when he announced he was going to LSU university.

I was thinking of saying top 10, but you never know what could have happened. Look what Lynch has done ever since he went to the seahawks. without the injury i'd definitely say top 10 but there is a possibility he could have been hire(great RBs are usually in their prime after 3 years)

Yes he was but Domanick had the potential to be way better.

Does Michigan even have a RB in the NFL right now?
Chris Perry at Cincy is the only one I can think of and he rarely plays.

Steve Van Buren led the NFL in rushing 4 times, 7 times all pro, 2 time NFL champion, made the NFL 75th anniversary all-time team, is in the Hall of Fame, and retired as the NFL all-time rushing yards and TD leader.
Jimmy Taylor retired as 2nd all-time in rushing TDs behind Jim Brown, was the leading rusher in the NFL in the only year of Jim Brown's career that he didn't lead the league, 6 time all-pro, 3 time NFL champ, 1 time super bowl champ, and is in the Hall of Fame.
But, yeah if Domanick Davis had a couple more 1100 yard seasons in 16 games then he'd clearly be the best of all-time.
