It's Monday - afternoon - and they haven't made a decision. You tell me how easy it is to move a NCAA game on 5 days notice?
Do you idiots really not remember 2 years ago? They announced the USC game move to BR on a Wednesday. They have time.

How many games has Bama outright lost due to weather since 2012?

Baton Rouge is about 3x closer to the coast than Tuscaloosa.

Wednesday is asking a lot, don't you think ? Joe is the very best in the business, and even knowing that, I'm thinking Thursday around end of business .

You need to take a break from the internet, bud.

There is no reason right now to think this game won't be played.

You think there is no reason to believe this game might not be played this Saturday? I don't think it's "off" off, yet. BYU would have it tough because they have no bye date - we could either go there or play at a neutral site if they dumped San Jose State on October 28th.

Maybe. But it further illustrates the need for definitive contingency planning. Not, "we'll figure it out when it happens" - and if that means ESPN has to do that, so be it.

Why are you guys so agitated ? I'm just agreeing with you . Joe is the best in the business . There will most likely be a game . They are working on it . They will tell us when they are done. That may be today or Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever . What's your beef ?

Joe said the game belongs to ESPN, its about the $$$, not about the fans or the teams for that matter

If that's truly the case, that nothing the AD of a team can possibly say to sway opinions when a natural disaster occurs, then frick ESPN and stop giving them the power to determine what our frickng school does.

Neutral site disaster
Here's a thought, Joe, play some non conference games in Tiger Stadium fans want to attend.

The utter stupidity of some of the posters in this thread still demonstrate how moronic some not all are. This game is owned by NRG/Texans with ESPN having the rights to the telecast. This is not Joe Alleva's decision. Ian sure they have some contigencies in place, but you don't hold a venue to something that may not happen. Changing venues is not as easy as ordering another beer, so just go get another beer and wait until they decide.

Major storm bearing down on Houston - absolutely no reason to lock in a backup site, right? None at all.

What do you mean by lock in? Again multiple sites have been contacted so clearly contingencies are being discussed. If it was too late to do anything I'm sure we'd know that by now. According to sources I've heard the Superdome needs to know by Tuesday at the latest in order to have the necessary staff in place. They can have the stadium turned around from Saints game on Thursday in 48 hours. I think it's safe to assume a similar time table for other similar sized venues. So no there was no reason to have a plan locked and announced as soon as a storm is projected to hit the city where the game is scheduled.

Yesterday I told you that Joe Aleeva , who is the best in the business, would tell us on Monday that he hoped to have an announcement on Tuesday . For that I was told to die and dipshit here requested that I be banned.

Yet today, that's precisely what occurred. Sorry for keeping it real?

This is only a disaster for people who were going to the game. It will be moved well before there would be any affects on the teams. It's kind of hard to pass up 4million for a neutral site game.

You are just being a dickhead and everyone is seeing through it. We get it. You hate Joe Alleva. But don't bitch about something over which he has NO control.
