I'd much rather watch our tigers in that 1.5 billion dollar palace than going to POS stadium in Orlando, IMO

Why is that upsetting? As fricked up as the field was for Cap One bowl last year, I say frick them. It isn't the national championship, nor a BCS bowl. It doesn't make a lick of difference for preseason rankings next year whether we win Cotton or Cap One.

ETA: And as someone else said.. Why would you not want to play at Jerry World? It's an incredible facility, with a capacity of almost double the Citrus Bowl. There is no downside.

You make it sound like we're going to the fricking Independence Bowl...

Except you are taking on a weaker lower ranked team from a weaker less respected conference. It looks like a dodge...Are we afraid to take on the Big 10 conference shared champions with 1 loss and higher ranking????

Yes it does matter for respect and next season's rankings...afraid we will lose?

Location is a selfish reason...I say play the best team available and I guarantee that Texas A&M ain't it:)

Capital One Bowl has the largest payout of all the non-BCS bowls at $4.25M per team.

Cotton Bowl has a payout of $3.58 Million per team

Can't believe people keep bringing bowls payouts up. How many times do people have to repeat that it is shared amongst SEC teams.

bowl payouts generally lead to more national recognition. More people watch the capitol one bowl than the cotton. It isn't really close either

Even though the SEC shares bowl revenue, payouts=more exposure (why sponsors pay more $$$$)

I went to the Iowa/LSU game in 2004 and have no interest in going back.

I still say we get cotton bowl (I hope so anyway).

Not only were we there just last year. I also think that it may set-up for a better storyline to have Bama playing Sparty. They'll probably talk all day about how NS coached there...

Cotton is now the last bowl before the MNC game is arguably the finest facility in all of football

Really? With other bowls going on at the same exact time as the cap one. Cotton is the only game that day with a primetime time spot.
