Cops changed postgame traffic route Gourrier/River Rd. last night without telling anybody

Traffic exiting Gourrier to River Rd. is supposed to turn left and go south. For some unknown reason last night they decided to block left turns and force everyone to turn right and head toward downtown.
It seemed like every car was slowing down asking the deputy why they can’t turn left. All he would say is “just go” and waive you right, while the overweight female deputy just giggled.
Any idea who to contact at LSU about this? Bad postgame traffic is apart of LSU football, but doing the complete opposite of what the published traffic map says is just absurd and will lead to big issues when the whole crowd stays til the end.

there was a wreck on Burbank last night and they had it down to one lane
so I guess that is why they changed the postgame flow patterns

Man, I spent quite a bit of money relocating my parking pass this year because I couldn’t go to downtown on river road…

We got redirected from Alaska St into the WCA parking lot

There was a wreck on I-10E as well just past where the bridge merges with 110.
Slowed down all the traffic from Dalrymple that hits 10 and then redirects back towards StG and Ascension.

Nothing beats having Nicholson only rolling 1 lane from the stadium to bright side to let the fricking bicycles have the other lane instead of contra flowing both lanes all the way out to Gardere

Not that contraflow is ever quick but a single wreck can pretty much eliminate one of the few options out. There’s always more than one most games which isn’t surprising given how everyone is trying to get out as quick as possible with aggressive driving

A wreck on Burbank shouldn’t affect Gourrier/River Rd. Most southbound River Rd traffic goes all the way to Lauberge. The ones who turn on Brightside sit for a long time before eventually turning right on Nicholson.
There really was no reason for what they did.

OP, what time did you leave the game? We left near the end and it was the exact opposite. Cops were only allowing left turns onto River Road.

Nicholson to downtown was over loaded. Noticed cars coming over to Nicholson from River Road between stadium and downtown allowed to merge into Nicholson. Lots more yard parking between stadium and and downtown than usual. This is adding even more cars on Nicholson. Buying a condo for games would be nice and affordble but a year of condo fees is more the two decent hotel rooms for home games.
