Mullen was All smiles. I think internally he was glad he stuck it to LSU knowing he was ignored for the job that he would love to have

fricking stupid pro O lsu fans and their temper tantrums they threw with LSU leaning to not hire as him as the permanent head coach after the Florida game.

I feel like im arguing with women about football. The majority of these O supporters either just started following football or dont follow it at all and only supporting him because they new his name and was from South Louisiana.

Lots of major programs go through rebuilds. I think LSU fans have this crazy notion that we will not experience some lows with this change. Georgia had a rough first year with Kirby. Miami had it with Mark. Texas is with Herman.

We are low on talent right now in key positions. If Coach O can't recruit those top players, then he shouldn't be the coach. I mean that's why he was hired in the first place. So I don't think you can solely blame that lose on him, because he wasn't hired to be a guy to make in game changes. The coordinators were.

The fact he's from Louisiana is a good enough reason for some of our fans. I keep seeing "I like him and he's from Louisiana". I will never understand that line of thinking.
. That is the same retard mentally of the people in this state that kept electing Edwin Edwards.

If that is true, then what is he being paid for. The head coach is the decision maker. He decides what the best gameplan is. The Coordinators job is to run his responsibility the way the coach wants. When the coordinators units are getting results, it the head coaches job to make adjustments.

But LSU's head coach is only qualified to cheer the team up and watch the game. He doesnt know anything about offense or defense beside DL. And he had to beg Pete Jenkins to come out of retirment ro help him with the DL.

I seriously have to quit looking at tbis board right now.

No one outside of Baton Rouge thought coach O was a good hire. I'm sure he is a good man, cares about family, and has his feet grounded in what should be important in life. Unfortunately none of those qualities are important when being the head coach at a major university.

And as we live in such a PC world we no longer are allowed to point out that, these days not only must you be able to coach. You must also look, and sound the part. The mumbling may be cute to some. But to academics, professors and most important the money men it is a sign of an uneducated man. And they do not appreciate the fact that they feel he is an embarrassment to the very university in which he is supposed to represent. After all he is the face of the university to those who do are not familiar with the institution. There are a lot of influential people that are taken aback by coach O's shtick. And would much prefer a guy who could work the room at a large country club full of donors AND win football games.

No one will ever truly know the reason Miles had to go. However you can bet it had little to do with football. Add that to the fact it was believed at the time that Tom Herman, not O would get the job. Makes the coach O hire even more questionable. But LSU is in for a long ride.
