well one way to look at it
also looks like LSU compliance was on this and it will be cleared, like the Ridley deal
Looks like the compliance office wasn't on it, and the NCAA brought it to their attention. I think they did well with the Hick's situation, but the dropped the ball here. Both them and Les did. When an investigation is going on, players need to be clearly told what they can and cannot do, and that was obviously not thoroughly done here.
Les wouldn't have commented on how the NCAA saw it as a big deal if they hadn't discussed it with LSU. My money is that while interviewing the player, they mentioned a response to something before the investigator asked because Shep told them what they asked him. When they asked said player how they knew this was a question, player said Shep told me about his interview.
Glad to see it's mostly an innocent accident, but it is beyond pathetic if Shep gets burned for 4 games, while Oregon gets away with all this crap.

Did the "crap" include NCAA violations?

reverse that. Compliance office found out RS talked to teammate and self reported

Thus why I said if he has to serve a 4 game suspension.

Hopefully Beckham can step up. I know D. Byrd personally told me he thought Odell had the best hands on the team. Said he catches everything.

What is really sad is that A guy like cam newton and his family can shop for who will pay the most money for his services and nothing happens. but petty shite like this causes a player to lose his eligibility ...

so does anyone think there is anything to the LSU and Lyles stuff? Was Shep already questioned and nothing came of it then he talked to someone about it?.....Sorry Ive read through several pages but I still cant figure out what is going on

This thread smells bad. Surprised it got stickied. I'll wait to hear from the head coach in person on this one.

the timeline is passed on to the NCAA. “We would hope that we would know the specifics in the next 10 days-2 weeks,” Miles said. “He could be ineligible for some period of time and really with response with how the NCAA saw the violation.”
Cam was reinstated rather quickly, was he not? I guess it matter if the NCAA stands to lose a few bucks or not. Crooked fricking bastards.
