It was the most passing yards for LSU since 2007, and mediocre >>> bad.
I can't understand you hanging your hat on 2600 passing yards.
Would you rather have
207/352 2600 yards 12/7 in 13 full games or
182/296 2200 yards 17/7 in less than 12 games?
And if you want to start the debate about better offenses, one's running game accumulated just over 1400 yards and 14 TDs, while the other's run game had 2250 yards and 29 TDs. The latter had way better personnel in the backfield to aid him in his first year and he still performed worse. The box was stacked in both seasons too so don't start with that crap either.
I believe we get the best of both world's next year though. We'll have the efficient passing of 09 with the run game of 2013. My bold prediction is that the passing TD total will be the highest it's been since 07, and will come near the passing yardage of next year.

2 QB's that had played post HS. Mett wasn't exactly raw coming in.
Mett played in JUCO one year..............................WOW. That's all you got? Jennings has at least played in a pressure situation and against the #6 ranked pass defense in his only two games with significant snaps. Mett played in a blowout against Ole Miss, Rivers did nothing, plus coming in to 2012, we had an OL coach calling the offense. It doesn't take much to figure out that we are in better shape with an NFL QB guru, and NFL OC great. Not to mention the great talent he has to work with.

And he's still here now with a year under Cam. Before we rounded up Bolden, we were going to go into 2012 with 2 QBs (one a project, the other raw) on roster and nothing else, how is that better than what we have next year?

Not really, it's actually pretty pathetic that I hope for 24 passing touchdowns. That is mediocre shite for every team that doesn't run triple option or some 555 carry a game run offense.

No one is disagreeing with you wanting the passing game to remain like it was with Mett.
All QBs are different, all have different skill sets.
We'll all see in due time what Cam does with all of them. None of us know for sure.
I think that's all Roger was trying to say.
We all cheer for the same team.

LEE will bitch a little, say it's a damn shame, and calm down once he's had his Canadian Mist.
BRAVEHEART is going to fricking firebomb something.
That's all that matters. If LSU can win Big Time with a DT, then it doesn't really matter.
I just personally prefer a pure passing QB that can get the ball to the WR's. I could really care less if the QB is a ST or DT. Just think we have a better chance for success with a Pro Style Pure Passing QB. If you have a great OL, great RB's and great WR's, you don't need the QB running with the football. I don't think Dupre and Quinn just signed with LSU to watch Jennings and Fournette get all the touches.
BTW, I'm very facetious in a lot of what I post. Most of my jabs at DTQB's are directly aimed at all the ridiculous little Rant fartknockers that make fools of themselves in their adoration and worship of DTQB's with "Swag."
Hence, my creation of the "JennJesuSwag" and "HarriSwag" monikers. If they can bring L.S.U. an S.E.C. or National Championship, then more power to em.

LSU loses two 1K+ receivers, QB, starting TB, and a couple OL. First year starters at all 4 of the main skill positions on offense and you expect the best year in 7 years? Maybe if Les allows them to play and pass deep into the cupcake games.

He will probably go to a good Div 1 program and do very well. Then, he will make it in the NFL at the very least as a backup QB and maybe a starter somewhere. We will be left wondering in two years or so while enduring an ineffectual quarterback display at LSU, why on earth we let this guy go. Mark it down and report back.

Good luck to him. Hope he's successful wherever he ends up.

Good luck to Rivers, hope he makes it in the NFL

JJ was a bad QB because he was a bad QB. Not because he was a dual threat. Lee was a bad QB because he was a bad QB. Not because he was a pocket passer. On the other hand Mett was pretty bad in 2012. Not because he was a pocket passer. Mett was really good in 2013. Not because he was a pocket passer. But because Cam Cameron fixed his mechanics and lead the offense to success. In cam i trust

Good luck to him

I expect 24 passing TDs. It's not a lot to ask, I know it seems like a lot because of how crappy we are at doing that, but if you think about it in the landscape of football, 24 passing TDs is nothing for one QB.

At heart we are a power running team, meaning when we get in the redzone we will pound it in. That skews some of those TD numbers. I'd much rather see a high completion %.
Last year 24 TD's would have put a QB in the top 23 in the nation, and only 5 of those guys were sophomores or freshmen (that's including RS). That's pretty lofty expectations for a first year starter on a power running team.

Best of luck to Steven, I know his family & they are a great bunch of people. He just did not work out at LSU but I wish him all the luck in the world. Truly a class act!

Why didnt bolden start then?
If Bolden starts this year other than the other 4 QB all simultaneously getting hurt in a freak accident , and you can ban me for a year.
