As an NC State Alum that transferred from LSU, I've been pulling for Rivers since he was signed. It would be awesome if he followed in his brother's footsteps and went to NC State. Rivers should geaux Wolfpack!

Auburn did pretty good in 2010 with lots of running. Bama and LSU did pretty good in 2011 with lots of running. Bama did pretty good in 2012 with lots of running. Auburn did pretty good in 2013 with lots of running.

Off the top of my head, Fla. St was the 1st team in awhile to depend as much as it did on passing.

In 2012 Bama's passing O ranked #62.

I understand wanting a passing game cause I want it too, but I don't understand the fear some seem to have of LSU wanting a good running game.

Not necessarily. I just expect the offense to take a big step back this year. It's truly a rebuilding year offensively with a lot of unproven guys.

But, I expect the defense to be improved, so maybe it's a wash.

Lee stuck it to himself by his terrible play, once again, against Alabama in November. LSU gave him the start and the chance to redeem himself in that game and he failed terribly.

No doubt, he was not good against Bama in that previous game. He did very well coming off the bench in 2010 against Bama to move the chains on that long pass and help secure the win after JJ got knocked out (after a good performance by JJ).

Jefferson had 25 total yards in the SEC Championship Game. You don't get much worse than that. It didn't stop him from playing the whole game in another championship game. He more than doubled that total with the BCS Championship Game Performance (and people thought that was one of the worst performances ever).

But anyway, best of luck to Rivers wherever he goes.

Lee helped us to one of best seasons ever. So did JJ. LSU was lucky to have both available after the RP shite.

I think Jennings will do fine and getting the best RB coming out of high school should make the LSU offense a force.

I don't see any reason for the concern over the LSU offense some are continually expressing .

Surprised he stayed as long as he did considering the amount of time he stood holding a clipboard.

Good luck to the young man!

Not afraid of a good running game....just don't want to become one-dimensional and predictable. We've got 2 guys who CAN chunk it when need be. Let's give them a chance once they get broken in some.

Top two WR's, gone. QB, gone, Best RB,. gone. Top QB still has question marks, and the only QB under him with experience seems buried on the depth chart.

It's a definite rebuilding year on offense but I think the defense will be good enough to carry the team to 10 wins.

The good thing is 4/5 on the line will be back. There will be a learning curve for sure and we won't be nearly as efficient as we were last year, but the offensive line should alleviate some of those growing pains.

We'll be a 60/40 run/pass team that we've always been. And it will be a fun year to see who steps up and how these guys develop.

In 2010 LSU ran for 190 yds a game and passed for 170.
In 2011 LSU ran for 200 yds a game and passed for 160.
In 2012 LSU ran for 175 and passed for 200 a game.
In 2013 LSU ran for 200 and passed for 250 a game.

I don't see one-dimensional in those figures. I see 55% to 45% difference between run/pass in how LSU gained their yds.

Honestly, I'm more concerned with the D being able to get off the field late in tight games than LSU being one-dimensional on the O, but each to our own.

I'm 100% sure there will be growing pains. You don't lose Mett, OBJ, Landry, Hill and expect to not break stride. There are a couple of cupcakes after Wisconsin that will help ease the new guys into a routine.

I think the defense will be much improved. LSU poved in the SECCG vs UGA in 2011 you can win with a dominant defense and a stagnant offense.

What's being overlooked here is that this guy was on the football team and still manages to get a degree in business in three years. Wow! Nice going Stephen! You don't need to hang your head about anything. Good luck in the coming years. Will follow you and pull for you wherever you go.

It'l be improved from last year. Some experienced guys coming back who will show improvement and some new guys coming in who may get early PT.

There's a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Gotcha. This defense will benefit from the fact that the league won't have a ton of experienced QBs.
