Updated. Thanks for the correction.

I don’t understand why LSU won’t pull the plug on Weiss, especially since Ole Miss is about to try to get LSU in trouble with the NCAA. This BS has gone on long enough.
Agreed. This is the stupidest fricking thing imaginable. If Weis stays, the first thing out of OM'S mouth should be an agreement to not file tampering.

Is there such a thing still as “trouble with the NCAA”?
No. And it damn sure won't be over tampering. No one wants that door opened. Not one school in America worth a shite isn't guilty of it according to the letter of the rule. Agents are doing all the communicating so unless they plan to subpoena the agents(which they have no authority to do and never have) its moot. These days woth the streak they're on, sue them. They never win. Karma is indeed real. And we've about had enough of it for whatever O did to assemble the 19 team.

Kiffin and Golding both say there is a plan in place and that are in communication regularly. All this crap about tampering is just click bait. As for prospects, they are coming here for Kiffin, not Weis. He will get it done.

They have already hired an OC and he’s been there for a couple weeks already

Based on things Weiss has said to reporters, It seems he has told LSU if he can’t finish the season with OM, he isn’t coming to LSU.. Yes he has signed a contract but starting a new relationship on a rocky road may not be the best path
Lane should tell Weis to FO. It’s disrespectful to LSU he has taken that tone (if it’s true).

I don't have a problem with Weis coaching through the playoffs. Look, we stole someone's coach during a playoff run. Unprecedented and it was caused by the NCAA's stupid calendar that has no basis in reality.
I'm not just looking at LSU but at the bigger picture. It's horrible for what is left of the game of college football. The pros do not do this crap. Wouldn't even think of it. Poaching coaches during playoff runs is a bad precedent but again, the calendar forces us into it.
Weiss coached a team that has a chance to win a national championship. He has a chance to win one. You never know when you will get such a chance again and don't assume you will. I don't blame Weiss and I would probably do the same thing. He also probably gets tired of hearing how Kiffin is the offensive genius of Ole Miss and wants to show he got it done without him.
So no, I don't have a problem with him coaching up there for two more weeks. We will be fine despite all the hand wringing on this board.

Imagine this board if LSU in the near future is entering its first playoff run in the new CFP system, and Alabama backs up the Brinks truck and entices Kiffin to leave before the first playoff game.

QB coach on campus, Lane Kiffin on campus, we have zoom. I trust in our coaches to do their jobs. Remember Lane wanted to coach through the playoff's too! That would have been a problem.

Imagine Golding and and weis winning a championship before kiffings

Confirmed Weis is in Baton Rouge waiting to meet his new QB. Please trust the people we hired. They know what they are doing. You have no idea how many “fires” Lane has had to out out since he has been here. He has been anazing!

Smith will not return to Ole Miss.
Probably because he is in Lacy’s ear about coming to LSU.
