Regardless of their college careers, it's pretty obvious now that MF is the best of the group. He's actually getting starting QB interest from teams that don't have Rodgers.

Which is a completely different thread, Rob.

Flynn
Rohan
Mauck (ring puts him above Jamarcus)
Russell
JJ/JL (include them together bc I don't think they have the same success without one another)

In that order. My favorite QBs. Not necessarily Who is better than the other.

We're comparing LSU qb's and their careers here, not NFL players.

I don't think you want to start a list of great college players who were busts in the NFL, or average college players that went on to be great pros. College =/= NFL, and vice versa. Two different games.

Agreed. Note, I didn't say he had the best college career. But, what I did say is dead on fact. Green bay received interest in Flynn this off season. JR meanwhile.........

in terms of this thread, nobody gives a shite

you're just trying to pimp flynn and diss JR, but you can't do it really when confined to discussing college careers, so you're just throwing shite at the wall and hoping it sticks

I don't know what you're talking about. I was a huge JR fan and he was undoubtedly the best in college of that group. In fact, I'm not even sure I'd put Flynn at #2 based solely on college. You're just being touchy.

So why state it in this thread is all I'm asking? It literally has nothing to do with the OP's point of this thread and will only derail it.

I was just making an observation. Didn't know it was going to panties in a wad for two pages. I just have always found it interesting how college careers aren't always great pro indicators of relative success. LSU players or other teams also. Hell, Craig Nall survived in the NFL longer than JR I believe. It just interests me, that's all. There are obviously many non LSU examples too

I agree, and it's a thread I'd take part in. But given how easily this topic ALWAYS slides into complete idiots arguing back and forth it seemed unnecessary to add another dimension to the thread which really wasn't the OP's point.

That's all I was trying to say...

In all due respect, Jefferson has played more over a 4 year span than any of the aforementioned QB's. In reality, he should have better numbers than any of them. Way better actually. As far as Jefferson having the 2nd best senior year, we will agree to disagree. It's hard to make that claim on basically 4 games, Bama, Western KY, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. If he had played all 12 games thus far and the numbers were the same, I would agree with you. But to say he has had the 2nd best year as a senior, is a little far fetched. Lee would be ahead of him thus far for a senior season.

The SEC championship game.

For the record, Flynn has never started one of these. Ryan Perrilloux started in 2007 against Tennessee and went 20/30 for 243 yards.

You're trying too hard. I wish MF could have played against the weak defenses this year (besides Bama). Oh, and Flynn had Crowton.

No kidding. People remember you when you win hardware. Flynn played the best game of his career against Ohio st. He will always be remembered for that night in New Orleans. Jefferson's night is coming in a little over a month.

Oh, so you're one of those tards who only defines "big games" as ones we lose. Except for Flynn of course. Got it.

No fathead. I liked Russell very much and he was a stat machine. The point is that people remember championship games and players from those games. Unfortunately, Russell's SEC title went out the window in 2005 mostly because of Katrina. 2006 we lost tough games to good teams.

I liked the way Flynn playeed in 2007 especially when healthy. He closed out his career with a championship performance in the championship game.

I have a serious question:

Are you Jordan Jefferson?

I remember Flynn being better in 2007 than his stats show. He definitely made some big plays that year. Russell's 2006 season stats hides the fact that he played horribly in the two losses that year.

Flynn was AWFUL against both arky and UK

AWFUL!

Come on. I realize what you are trying to do, but have a little perspective here.

Perspective?

He likes to spend hours making up tables instead of just professing his undying love. Thankfully, he isn't billing my company for that time.

Russell was held back by Jimbo (or Les) for much of 2006. If we turn him loose against TheBarn instead insisting on trying to run the ball with gimpy running backs until it was too late, we go back to back BCSCG. Well, that and a fairly officiated game and we win. No one wanted a piece of that team late in the season.
