Yup. He did not turn the ball over that game, but he completed <50% of his passes.
Although, I'm not trying to detract from Flynn's accomplishments. He is one of my favorite Tigers, had a great 2007 campaign, displayed great leadership, and represented LSU well.
I just find it funny that a lot of fans put him on a pedestal above Russel. Russel led the team to a 10-2 record in 2006, had once of the best statistical seasons in LSU history, and lost on the road to eventual national champ Florida and on the road against 10-2 Auburn.
Flynn also led the team to a 10-2 record, but lost on the road to unranked Kentucky and at home to Arkansas who finished 8-5. It just so happens that to road to an SEC and national title was a little different that year.

Oh, so you're one of those tards who only defines "big games" as ones we lose. Except for Flynn of course. Got it.

Jefferson clearly has the second best senior year.
he's thrown 70 passes and accounted for 8 TDs, most of them against scrub defenses.
his SR season was better than Flynn's, who led LSU to their best offensive season in school history?
Come on. I realize what you are trying to do, but have a little perspective here.
quote:
efferson's career is arguably the second best as well. #1 in YPC, #2 in Comp% and Int%, #3 in YPA.
#4 is QB rating. The most important stat.
Matt Mauck threw more TD passes and started 1 year and a few games.
Flynn threw 2 less TD passes and was a 1 year starter
Jefferon has started more games than any of those guys, I'd almost bet. He should be be killing all of those numbers based on how many games he has started, esp when being compared to Lee, Mauck, and Flynn.
just complete your selective stats, here are starts by each.
Jefferson 30 starts
Russell 29 starts
Mauck 20 starts
Lee 17 starts
Flynn 14 starts

Remember Flynn only had one year as a starter. He didn't have as much time to develop in the starting position as long as the others did. Got news for you guys. Hodson is are best qb most likely. Jefferson and Russell had more years as a starter and that makes a big difference. Every qb has bad games. That's why it's based off a whole season.

I know you play intentionally stupid a lot of the time. Everyone knows it. It's your schtick.
I realize that you are playing stupid with this post. It's okay because everyone else sees it too.
I didn't grade the QBs based upon cumumlative stats like most yards rushing, most yards passing, or most TDs.
I graded them on averages and percentages.
Jefferson's career is arguably the second best as well. #1 in YPC, #2 in Comp% and Int%, #3 in YPA.
Mauck had an excellent career as well. He might have had the second best career. It's arguable.

of course you do

Russell's 2006 season stats hides the fact that he played horribly in the two losses that year.
flynn was fricking horrible against kentucky in 2007. why didn't you bring that up?

JJ hasn't had enough snaps or played enough this year to put him above those who played a complete season.
exactly. way too small of a sample for JJ to judge everything

That is not true. At the time we played kentucky they were either 6 or 8
Posted on 11/26/11 at 11:32 am to SlowFlowPro
I still laugh at anyone who blames the 2006 auburn loss on ANYONE besides jimbo fisher and les miles
And the UF game was a complete team loss. Everyone remembers the 3 picks, but everyone forgets that 2 of them hit Dwayne Bowe in the hands/chest, and early doucet muffed the 2nd half kickoff.

i hope that we can all agree that none of the QBs in this discussion were good enough runners to really use this variable

There is no logical reason to think otherwise.
I found these from their respective last seasons:
NAME CMP ATT YDS CMP% YDS/A TD INT RAT
JaMarcus Russell 232 342 3129 67.8 9.15 28 8 167.0
NAME CMP ATT YDS CMP% YDS/A TD INT RAT
Matt Flynn 202 359 2407 56.3 6.71 21 11 125.8
Completion %, yards, td's, int's, and qb rating all seem pretty logical.

yet you just so happened to leave out QB rating when you made your final assessments. Makes sense.

Regardless of their college careers, it's pretty obvious now that MF is the best of the group. He's actually getting starting QB interest from teams that don't have Rodgers.
