I heard the head coach say last year in September that the defense was better than 2019. That was determined to be a lie. So until we show it I’m not gonna hold my breath. Pelini is gone but that wasn’t the only issue we had.

Coach Jay interviewed 10 coaches for recruiting coach job, all face to face. High due diligence!

I fully expect the defense to be good this year.
I think we are solid everywhere but possibly LB and one safety.
It's the offense I am worried about, with questions at TE, OL, WR after Boutte, and RB (an avg. group by SEC standards).
We have one player on offense, Boutte, who is all SEC quality. On defense, Roy and Mason Smith (true fresh) could be at that level, with two AA CBs.
I think we are solid everywhere but possibly LB and one safety.

Hopefully this source isn't the same guy who claimed the 2020 defense was much better than the 2019 defense.
